[TuT] How to revert the 'AshesOfMalmouth' loading screen

I’ve noticed that some players are not very happy with the new loading screen for Ashes of Malmouth, so here is how to revert it to the ‘old’ one.

Requirement: an old installation of Grim Dawn (for ex. V1.0.1.1) with the extracted
data files somewhere on your hard disk.

  1. create a folder in your GD AshesOfMalmouth installation directory and name it “Settings”.
  2. copy the complete folder structure “ui\loading” from your “resources” directory of the old GD backup to the newly created “Settings” folder, so it should looks like “[GrimDawn]\Settings\ui\loading…”

Or, if you don’t have an old backup, download the old loading screen here and extract the .zip file to your GD installation directory.

Thank you very much for this. Stumbled upon after Googling and finding your response in another thread.

The new loading screen is way too bright and green when I’m playing this relatively dark overall game in a low-light room.

Im using currently the “vanilla” Grim Dawn + Crucible.
I haven’t yet the AoM, because this new loadingscreen.
I would testing this before, because Im not a computer expert.
But I havent a folder structure “ui\loading” from “resources”.
See, there i not a single folder like “ui”
(Im using the GoG-Version 1.0.2.1, because I like to have the game unlike steam)

You have to extract the game data files with the AssetManager first, before
you get the “ui\loading” folder in the directory “resources”. There is a guide
how to do that. http://www.grimdawn.com/guide/settings/modding.php

But as you said you’re not an computer expert, I would recommend that you simply download the zipfile that I provided in my first post and extract it to your Grim Dawn installation directory once you’ve the expac installed.

Thanks for writing this up and providing the link.

Nice, thank you.

It works, thank you!

I like the new loading screen lady, but it would also be cool to maybe have an official way of using the old ones.

Creating a new thread in the Ideas and Feedback forum is a better way to make that request, as this thread has nothing to do with your expression of an Idea or Feedback.

Thanks a lot for the method, it’s a pleasure to go back to the dark red loading screen.

Great!

Now then, is it possible to create a multiple loading screen and shown by random sequances…

or a way to change/ add a new list of tips to be shown on loading screen? :drools:
