Two things that had me quit temporarily...

Love the game!
Have completely moved from Diablo 3 to Grim Dawn and that is no small things since peps I know still play D3…
I have played 663 hours so far…

Here is the story and suggestions…

So I try not to get so exited about games as to get annoyed enough to rage quit but it happens. I am a high strung vet so… it is what it is… that being said I am also a bit OCD with this game and like to tinker with different builds I create… A LOT… like 20 or so toons that I am trying to get up to Homestead before going further… Yeah I get it i’m slow…

Two things that send me orbital…
After playing the game for hours we can make mistakes and I HATE that we cant abandon a bounty especially the one that requires that dam strange key, I hate the bounty, having to farm occasionally for the key and I reeeeely do not like taking some builds in there to deal with him if they are not ready. I walked away that day and took a few days off… purchased and played COD for a bit. So I get that your not going to pander to me I am just saying it like it is for me.

Second one I think you can fix easy. I dislike that the auto sort and the combine augments are right next to each-other in the stash countless times I clicked in a hurry… did I mention I am a bit OCD makes me loos it ever time. And think that it could be tweaked and improved easy. Also talked to a few buddies and they agree… when Combining augments can you leave the stacks of the most powerful (combined already) augments and move the piece mail ones… not willy fracking nilly… I line my stuff up on the left so that when I hover over items I am wearing I can see (because there is treasure text) the dam things that can go on the items as a augment. Needless frustration and could be improved.

Thank you!!

One thing you could do is to spare Direni in Devil’s Crossing and he’ll give you the key as a quest item. Even if the key drops from cultists, it’s best to spare him so as to have him as a boss in Cronley’s hideout later. As for the bounty itself, I usually keep away from Salazar until I hit level 30, or I have a resilient toon with good resists.

For the component part (augments are something different), the first issue will be solved in time. At first, I tended to do the same thing but after a while i got used to it. For the second part, I don’t quite understand the problem… What I usually do is enter the inventory, where i have component parts on the left (initial tab) and hit the combine button from time to time, as it’s easier to have them completed there and not have component pieces crowding the other tabs, where the items are. When all tabs are full, I go sell/stash the items and also the components. If it’s any help, the sort function in the stash tabs can sort things alphabetically, so you can get used to having components lined up in a more logical way, once you get to memorize part of them or recognize them at a glance.

P.S.: The real nuisance will start when you need to craft high level relics/gear, as switching tabs in the blacksmith’s crafting menu resets the tabs to the beginning (ex: you want to craft a lvl 60 relic, craft some components for a lower tier relic, switch to component tab, craft component, get to relic tab at the beginning of it, scroll down to low tier relic, back to components tab, scroll for needed component, back to relics, scroll/move bar to high level relics)

You forgot an A here. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just wanna add, before you can talk to Direni you have to find his orders.

His orders are in a house just north-east of the Burrwitch village rift.

Fair enough

I couldn’t agree more with the auto-sort button. Man do I do hate that function and the stupid position on the interface.

And of course no “undo” anywhere and no option to disable that.

And next to that, no option to auto-pile up the components.
The iron bits and the potions do pile up automatically, but not the components. Just because.

Well, if that happens in the stash tab, i do agree, as it messes up the way you sort things, be it by item set or by damage type and so on. Devs could just add one of those prompt functions, with: Are you sure you want to sort this tab? Simple solution and probably not hard to implement.

About auto piling, i think if you install GrimInternals, it can autopick and autosort components, if i remember correctly about autosort option being added to it. There was talk about it in some thread…

Being a seasoned D3 player, you may enjoy the Grimarillion mod, after some time spent in main game. It features 5 out of 6 classes from D3, with most of their skill sets adapted to GD realities, and some items/sets from D3 as well.

As i also used to play D3 in the past, it’s really nice to see the classes from there enter dual mastery with those from GD or TQ and play around with synergies and so on ^^
