Ugddenbog Fetish, Bruteforce or errandboy?

what did u choose as the method to retrieve the Ugdenbog Fetish?

i chose to bruteforce, killed the guy, he dropped the key which opened a cellar door to a short two-floor dungeon, killed the boss and retrieved the fetish.

pros: no errands, feeling “hell yea”, straightforward,…

cons: apparently u lose burrowholm as an ally faction, which means u can no longer access their wares (correct me if i’m wrong)

so anyone has done the other method? what will happen there? are there any long term cons to both methods?:eek:

it takes a long time to take another char to ugdenbog… asking is faster, plus i hope this serves as a guide to future players, like many other threads which discuss the consequences of the different choices in the game

I did it the other way, you get 2-3 quests then the Fetish is yours and the faction stays allied with you, based on the following quests, it seems there are ways to keep both factions but I wonder if there’s an advantage to doing it the other way.

Pro to being hostile to them - You get to farm the Ravager and it’s hat drop that gives +1 to all skills and has a proc that debuffs resistances and help deal with the local Wendigo/cannibal infestation. And provides a farming source for Wendigo Spirit crafting material.

Cons if hostile - mostly really for vitality and pet builds, as Barrowholm has excellent stuff for them, although some of their stuff works for other builds.

I assume you can reset this choice in later difficulties like you can with the Outcast, but has anyone got far enough in two difficulties to test this?

If you can, and you were friendly in Normal but then when hostile in Elite, would that then make them hostile in Normal as well if you went back?

Damnit, i walked around a bit to look for a reputation merchant but didnt find one so i attacked with my cabalist…So, have to wait for Elite then

Btw: Where is this “Ravager” guy located you re talking about? in the Burrowholm Cellar?

Right - so Barrowholm does actually have some really good gear and augments lurking about, making them useful to ally with for pretty much all classes to some degree.

I chose to go hostile with them on my Druid, gonna be friendly with them with my Conjurer. I literally have 0 idea how on Earth would I farm Infamy with them.

EDIT: My friend Kralw told me that if you do Modrogen Shrine quest after you go friendly with them you get rep boost from it.
