There are some issues with the UI that I’d love to see addressed.
First, you can have DOTs on your character with no DOT icon above your energy bar. That should be fixed.
Second, the tooltips for the weapons & armor often scroll off the screen if you are playing at 1080p. Collapsible categories, multiple tabs, or something similar would be very useful even to people playing at high res.
Third, bonuses like +25% poison damage are unclear as to whether they apply to your weapon damage, to a specific skill, or to everything. Since it varies that is important to know.
Fourth, the damage breakdown on the 2nd tab on your character sheet doesn’t add up. I have a char with +83% piercing listed and an additional +247.6% piercing due to cunning. Equipping a 7 piercing damage ring bumps piercing damage up 35 though, so 500%. Where is the other 170%? There are many issues like this with the damage breakdowns.
Fifth, while a combat log would likely be too intense, it would be very useful to know what killed you and what damage type it was.
Sixth, when you target a mob it would be useful to see icons for the dots & debuffs you had stacked on it under its health bar in the top center.
Percent Damage bonuses affect all damage dealt of that type, which includes skills and weapon attacks. So if you have a 20% bonus to Fire Damage, all of your fire-based skills will do increased damage, as well as any fire damage you deal on weapon attacks.
But it doesn’t, not always. +X% poison on the Rat constellation applies to everything. +X% poison on Nidalla’s Justifiable Ends applies only to Shadow Strike. +X% poison on a weapon applies only to weapon damage.
Nidalla’s Justifiable Ends is a skill modifier to Shadow Strike. If that skill provided some sort of duration, then during that duration the +% poison damage would apply to everything (i.e. Blood Of Dreeg | Aspect of the Guardian) - but it doesn’t have that - it does one strike and only applies to the skill used - Shadow Strike.
The Nidalla’s Justifiable Ends +% poison modifier and the weapon +% poison modifier would all stack though when the user strikes with Shadow Strike. The bonuses from the Rat constellation would also apply.
