Ultimate Difficulty not unlocked

Hello

I recently wanted to start playing again with a friend, and we came up with this following issue:

While he finished normal only, the Ultimate difficulty is unlocked for him. For me , even though I finished it in veteran, it is still locked. I tried killing the final boss again, in case it was the issue of having an old character (pre latest overhaul) but still nothing happened.

If it’s a character created before v1.2 came out then that change is not retroactive. Only characters started in v1.2 and later will unlock both Elite and Ultimate when completely base game Normal.

only thing i can think of is
if you have an existing char in your roster with access to Ultimate, and FG installed, you can use that to buy a merit token, send to the char/older char that didn’t have Ult unlocked, consume the merit on that char it will get Ult unlocked now
besides that it’s as Medea say
