Hey everyone!
I fell in love with this game very quickly, but I often need to be studying these days. I’m looking for a build that requires the least amount of attention so I can glance at it occasionally while studying. I’ve seen the pokemon master build and the retaliation warden as two candidates, but I don’t want to level something only for it to not work out. I started theorycrafting a tank who stacks AoE effects as well, but I don’t know this game nearly enough yet. I wanted to know what people thought was the laziest build out there. This may be the only time someone’s actually looking for the most boring build possible, so don’t hold back on that account. I’m not concerned with clear times here, so speed isn’t a factor. In fact, a slow clear time may be helpful so long as the build is hands-off enough. Let me know what you come up with!
the retaliation one, a few patches ago I tried it and it worked. it is literally just putting everything into defensive passives/auras, but it works, that is, you won’t die:

that said, even this will require you to be using the mouse at all times since you are meant to be clicking on the enemy, the only difference will be you won’t have to use much of the keyboard.
GD is not a game to glance at occasionally I don’t think.
a pure pet build and letting them kill everything is your best bet, but I don’t think they can kill the bosses without assistance.
This isn’t the laziest build but it’s the laziest one i’ve played
I have a self-found Pokemon Conjurer that has cleared all of the campaign except of Ultimate Loghorrean (farming gear). It is a very capable build and plays pretty straightforward. That being said, it takes a bit to learn how to control aggro.
Pet builds are not lazy
Why? Honestly curious since i am saving pet builds for now. Waiting for the Necromancer
Need to constantly trigger devotions Shepherds call, Howl, Bysmiel which when used with Vines, COF ,Swarm or Pox etc draw aggro which is somewhat better these days with aggro tagged to 2 pet skills. There are still lots of bosses heroes who will always go for the player requiring running around till pets dispose of them
Blood of dreeg/ Resummon low hp pets
PI relic pets require you to attack so they are constantly out in full numbers
The upside is the safest mad queen in around 10 seconds, pets almost always crit hitting super hard when all of them are out with devotions triggered
to clarify, what I mean is summoning pets and letting them roam around killing stuff since he mentioned playing with little intervention.
so “without assistance.” here meant “without using your character, and picking what they have to attack” since what he said was something like “mostly watching my monitor while studying”
so are you saying you can kill the ultimate bosses except for loghorrean without your character and by purely using your pets?
yeah I feel like this is the main issue in this thread.
Even if you pick the laziest non-pet build that can withstand all the damage it receives, with 0 active skills, you will still need to hold down the left mouse button to kill enemies, so even that requires using your hands for that all the time.
a good retaliation build won’t require to click the screen at all vs. melee mobs, although some mobs have extremely slow attack speed which is irritating as hell.
but RANGED characters will be an absolute beast… you’ll even grow to hate gazers with a passion, weak as they are, they will not melee attack you. whether it’s worth it to pull your hair out on a gazer hero for the joy of watching Fabius repeatedly stab himself in the eye sockets and die in less than 10 seconds, well that’s up to you lol.
i eventually dropped my retaliate/reflect because there were just so many mobs that were “off limits” so to speak- they had trouble killing me but i couldn’t do anything to them. and some bosses like Anasteria will become literally impossible.
Do you really hope to get a Necro? I feel like Crate have only done semi original concepts, and I cannot stand a pet build as it is extremely… low management and anti fun. I sure hope its something unique and off the wall.
that’s just a rumor we keep repeating right? no confirmation yet on second class. or was there?
yeah, just a rumor, we have no idea yet.
This is exactly the build I was looking at, actually. I’ve modified it slightly (and ignorantly) to remove its interactivity while hopefully keeping its core goal. My only issue is that by removing its interactivity, you also remove some of its survivability in the form of Wendigo Totem. Although if the totem lasts long enough I may bring it back. I mostly wanted to make room for Counter Strike since the build was made before its +% retaliation buffs and I think it would make a worthwhile addition.
I’m not really concerned with clearing every dungeon without interaction just so long as there’s a dungeon or two I can run repeatedly to farm legendaries (or other rewards if I’m using it to level mindlessly). So the build doesn’t necessarily have to be able to kill everything. Good catch, though. I’ll need to pick my target carefully.
well then, find a few easy farming spots and have pets on aggressive mode, using one of those summoners. even if the build has active skills, there would be spots where pets are enough by themselves. you can do that when you are busy, and play normally when you are not.
retaliation doesn’t work with rangeds, so its not possible to make that soldier build completely independent.
So what I’m hearing is that there really isn’t a build I can use for this? While unfortunate, that’s probably a good sign for the game and the developers. I hear that reflect is a good idea against ranged and spellcasters, but it won’t win the harder fights and it would require micromanaging my gear mid-dungeon. I’ll probably end up seeing how powerful a retal/reflect build can be but not keep my hopes up.
Definitely a build of extremes lol. Took me literally forever to kill Undead nemesis but 2x Iron Maiden’s melted against me in about 20s total. Easy to get ret hits to 100k so if you don’t mind choosing your battles it’s a pretty silly build
