During my grind to 85 and beating everything on Ultimate difficulty, I’ve only looted 1 piece of Ultos, the shoulders.
I’ve seen so many people on youtube and on these forums who have the entire set, and wondering where it was you got it if you remember. I figure this games loot is all part of same loot table for the most part, I am just looking to change my usual farm areas.
I’ve spent most my time farming act 1 and the Aetherial Nemesis. I now changed to the Cronley run while I work on getting Cronley to Nemesis. So far no luck post 85 on getting another Ultos piece. I am at 238 hours on Grim Dawn which I realize way so many talk is not that much time spent in game farming, but I would still like some feedback.
I can kill pretty much anything in my current gear, so any farm hints I may not have yet to explore would be nice. If anything, something new would be a nice change of scenery with new loot rules.
I only got one Ultos piece by myself and it was Ultos’s Hood through a blueprint. I got the amulet, chest armor and Stormseeker through the trading section in this forum. I haven’t got the shoulderguards yet.
You can get it anywhere, treasure troves/nemesis chests will give you a better shot at the helmet blueprint which you already have but useful to know for other sets maybe.
Twin falls hive and cronley runs are both very good farm routes. croplands->royal hive, bastion before gate (makes sure to learn the trove locations besides the main 2), and undercity are all decent as well. Moosi/Fabius are good nemesis to farm if you can kill them relatively quickly.
You should really use the trade thread if you want something specific though. It took me over 900 hours to get the final piece of the Ulzuins set lol rng can be a bitch so just trade if you really want something
Thank you for the replies. I was trying to hold off from using the trading section because I like the feeling when pieces you want badly finally drop.
I will go learn the trove spots and add some of these areas to my list, funny thing was I was about to do all that anyway. This just confirms I should once my Cronley at Nemesis.
Fabius runs are also good, especially if you have someone to play with, you can split up the search and do double the runs in the same time.
I like to start on Cronley as there’s a chance Fabius will spawn on the way. If not, look through Hanneffy mines (2nd most likely place in my experience), then go to the smaller areas if he still isn’t there.
After that, a quick BoC run just for the trove, got Beastcallers shoulders from there yesterday (not Ultos, I know, but they Beastcallers are just are rare from what ive seen)
Then you need to luck out and not get 4 Ultos chest armours and 2 of the weapon like me and my brother have between us
farming rare mats (1st floor BoC probably easiest place right now) is probably one of the “quicker” ways to get a specific piece. When you turn them in to the BS in Tyrant’s Hold you can at least specify “armor” in order to narrow the pool of legendary items down thus increasing your odds for the piece for which you are looking to obtain. Still it is all up to RNG so could still take a while…
