I recently started running into a bug - for one of my chars, Ultimate difficulty stopped loading, trying to load the game triggers a black screen with the cursor, the music plays in the background, but it just hangs there. Other difficulties on the same char load perfectly well, other chars have no issues.
Tried several fixes, including verifying game files, using repair.exe, hosting a multiplayer game on ultimate, but the issue persists.
Is there any way to resolve this issue? AI suggest removing the map file and erseting the difficulty altogether, but I would like to avoid that if possible.
You have extra copies of fog of war data, looks to be copies from another character that you put there? Deleting the blanks and renaming the extraneous files back restores the save.
Thanks, Zantai, worked like a charm, glad we could resolve this without resorting to a complete map reset. I honestly have 0 idea how those extras got in there, and not with a character’s, but my own name added to file names. Weird
