EDIT: FOUND THE SOLUTION. You have to edit the DBR by doubleclicking it inside Asset Manager: Database, for it to point to the mod and then you can select.
Honestly Crate, that’s info that should go into the PDF, how the software behave and the path you have to follow to get somewhere.
Issue left below in case someone else is looking for it someday…
Hello,
Only tutorial I found for the DBR is this.
http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38350
Whenever I try to add a convo to an NPC, I cannot get to my CNV file. The above tutorial, the guy sees “CustomBossMusic” folder at the bottom of the list. Why can’t I see my CustomConversation Folder?
I follow all his steps in order to create the asset that the DBR should be loading, but the DBR appears to only allow me to select outside of my mod. I want to select the CNV file from inside my mod.
I created the folder in asset manager. Right click “Project1” (root), Resources: and New Directory -> CustomConversations.
After that, I made a conversation and saved it here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\mods\Project1\resources\CustomConversations\hermit.cnv
Then I created asset: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\mods\Project1\assets\CustomConversations\hermit.cnv
Note there are no spaces in my actuall cnv files’ names, it seems to be a bug with the forum.
Next, set up the NPC:
I imported the DBR of the NPC, then rename it, then adapt folder structure, giving me this result:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Grim Dawn\mods\Project1\database\records\creatures
pcs\ruinedcity\hermit.dbr
Then I open DBR editor and open the hermit.dbr file. Now when I try to select a CNV file from under the Conversation setting, it gives me this choice, one througg editing the value, the other doing it the way the tutorial is doing it.
