Hiii, In case the update comes out, are the old games reloaded or will they suffer failures?
Assume a full restart just in case. This way any compatibility makes you happy!

Unless we explicitly say so, updates will not break saves. It’s extremely unlikely we’d ever consider breaking people’s saves though.
That said, changes to world generation are not retroactive, so if you want to take advantage of those, you would need to start a new town.

I currently play peaceful haha I wanted to see all the improvements and expand, for now I have no resource problems, but if I assume that I will not be able to use that mother rock haha, my map has 982 people, I still have sectors of sand 
and stones of 84
No, you would need to start a new town to take advantage of that. If you like the map you’re currently playing on you can note down the map seed and as long as you also know the map type and difficulty you’re playing on you can recreate the same map when the patch drops.
