Hehe not the first one that made a new Thread about this already: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?p=701880#post701880
HYPE
I suspected it but hype and excitement got the better of me.
(Thread can be closed then?).
Is there a thread to discuss the new skills? I didn’t look very hard but can’t find it, may as well do it here.
The Pet is completely bonkers. OathK + Inquisitor will be the new Spellbinder ?! /discuss
Paladin OP yeah
(I am not that impressed by Spellbinders outside Crucible tbh but that is another question)
Now I am wondering if elemental type retaliation damage also will be converted with Reforged if it is added to the attack… I know in normal cases retal dmg is not converted.
Anyway, I was thinking about making some sort of Octavius Paladin until I get the new items. Something like this https://www.grimtools.com/calc/a2dvqz1Z
outside of eye of reckoning the class looks horrible to me, tho I also felt that way aboot Arcanist when it was first dropped and I actually ended up loving it.
But the skills just don’t intrigue me at all.
Will probably end up giving necromancer run for it’s money as my least favorite class.
edit***
seems he only added the class not the new gear
So, i assume that “Healing effects incrased by some%” does only affect stuff like blood of dreeg, menhir’s will and potions, and not regen, right? (skills: Haven, Resilience)
Yeah the new items and devos will come later. Didn’t you know that?
But Aegis of Menir and Judgment (Diablo III skill basically) and also Vire’s Might (I love these burst speed skills) are gonna be awesome! And the shield attack WPS…
Based on what I currently see this wouldn’t be 0.6 inq tier. Tho I still have high hopes for Warlord to be the next binder, if the items are in order.
I really really want Oppressor to have lots of item support tho. Skill synergy looks to be on point both on the phys and vit fronts. I’m already eyeing an autoattack build (will theoretically be better dps than warlord without the new items) and a Blood Knight pet build (please give bonuses to the new pet on BK).
S&B Fire Shieldbreaker, Paladin or Warlord; DualGun Righteous Fervor Paladin; Venomlance Dervish, Ascension + Fevered Rage for a huge Doombolt Sentinel, etc. It opens so many possibilities.
Questions:
////10chars
Isn’t that a huge amount of stacking physical resist reduction? 2 pets and it’s AOE too…
Demolitionist is crying with their mines in the corner with another class picking up a decent fire resist reduction skill.
Paladin or Warlord;
for octavius? Warlord all the way. Paladin doesn’t have RR and the WPS that gives RR isn’t what you want on octavius. For other builds it will always depend
Oh, let’s wait and see what the gear is like. I wouldn’t be surprised if Inquisitor’s Aura of Censure gets another special item/set with more big & fat RR…although it doesn’t need it with the OK Autoattack being fire/physical.
OK seems fine at a glance, though. The paladin is going to be able to stack a fair bit of OA/DA (presense of V, resilience, deadly aim) and will stack some extreme % damage to Cathonians via smite (+ steel resolve + sanctified bone+ Imbued silver)
Add in some cdr, and Resilience will be active fairly often for that juicy 12+ %DA,16+%phys RR, and resistance max; 66% is actually a reasonable threshold. (unlike many current items at 30% etc.)
AA seems versatile, as well.
I was surprised that PoV didn’t require a shield, as one of it’s nodes(Haven) is all shield stuff. But I guess that makes it more flexible for all combos.
Not for Octavius, I meant S&B Fire Paladin. So, Aura of Censure for RR and/or some Malakor Mace etc.
What gun did they show ?
I was hoping for a better DW fire based with Shieldbreaker combo but i dont see much of a change tbh and with the items we have atm and the combo class dmg still looks low
I better wait for the gear on grimtools too
I was going to make a Grimtools link before I accidentally removed the link, but Acid / Vitality Sigil Sentinel with Radaggan Gem for 40% Fire to Acid (more if you take an Elemental to Acid helm) and 100% Chaos to Acid Sigils. Depending on how good the Shield passive / buffs are, you can forego an off-hand for Vampiric Bonewall to get a Shield that gives good Sigil bonuses.
You can get Manticore + Rumor + Dying God + Abomination Tainted Eruption, and Sentinel gets double RR for both Acid and Vitality, so if you go for 20/10 Vitality and 12/12 Oathkeeper pet debuff, that’s 73 Stackable RR for both Acid and Vitality; include equipment and devotions in the mix and you have at least 110 RR for both Acid and Vitality.
In short, Sentinel Sigils are going to be a lot of fun, with or without an off-hand.
That. I mean look at that gun design.
Octavius Tacticians can be successful, despite inq not having physical rr…
And with Oathkeeper we get TWO of those summons that provides STACKABLE physical rr. AND, we have the wps flat physical rr
Sure, we will have no access to bonkers Forcewave but that is another story but from a rr point of view, physical Paladin looks fine
