Use of savegames on PC and Laptop alike

I´ve been lookin´around for a while but didn´t find the answer to the following problem:

I´m playing Grim Dawn both on my PC at home and my laptop. When activating the “Cloud save” option I only get my char progress on the machine I´ve lastely been playing with but not on the other. When deactivating the “cloud save” I can copy my savegames from the my games folder via usb stick and put it to the other machine. This is a little bit awkward.
Is there an easier solution to this issue or am I just unable to “push” the right button.

Do you have cloud saving enabled on both Steam (or GOG depending on which you’re using) and also in the Options menu ingame?
