v0.7.5F - Hunter Traps

I think there is already a bug report for Hunter Lodge Trapping ratio not saving properly.
I would like to report more bugs around the traps made even worse by the broken ratio problem.

  • The hunter set more than the limit of traps. I have a lodge with 8 traps around it. Is the number the limit in their area of effect? What happen to traps no longer in that area?
  • Not sure how long should a trap stay but they don’t seem to disappear even when I build on top of it.
  • Hunter Cabin T1 will check traps of Hunter Lodges but need to drop off pelt at a T2 building. There is no way to prevent them to do that and focus on Deers to produce food and Tallow. I had to destroy every T2 Lodges for them to stop checking traps.
  • Notifications for not enough traps set will show up even if more than 4 traps are already present.

In the current version I recommend anyone to not upgrade any Hunters Cabins. Your hunters will end up producing mostly pelts and a little bit of food. Notifications about lack of animals will pop up because your hunter spend all his time checking traps even if Deers are around. Lots of iron is wasted since traps cost 1 iron to produce.

The lack of animal notification can happen because they’re literally not hunting anymore. That’s the version of this bug I’ve been dealing with.

In addition, the slider for the traps resets instantly after leaving the building window, making it impossible to disable or reduce traps.

Hunters also place traps extremely randomly and often very far away from their lodge as well as nowhere near their designated hunting area.

Found that out on my first town to get Tier 2 Lodges. The hunting area for that lodge was in one direction, but the traps ended up as far out as another hunter cabin’s work radius in the opposite direction

I’ve encountered this bug as well, and T2 hunters seem to stop hunting deer and just check for traps: you’ll notice an uptick in your pelts production and a sharp decrease in tallow production if the same behavior’s being exhibited in your game.
