V0.9.7 Playtest coming next week

Keen eyes may have noticed that the changelog for the upcoming playtest is now public.

We are very nearly ready to share all of the extras we have packed into this update, but the team is still busily ironing out known issues with the new wall tech and achievements. We expect that the playtest can begin in earnest next week, at which point you too can create the 8-pointed star wall layouts you have always needed for, er…defense.

As a reminder, participating in the public playtests simply requires registering on our forum, at which point you will be able to view both the Playtest FAQ, and the changelog linked to above.

We will see you in the playtest very soon!

0.9.7 test+conseqences = 2 month
1.0.0 test+conseqences = 2 month
august looks realistic for release 1.0

I feel dizzy watching this unholy image… God Emperor protects

Most excellent.

A huge step in the right direction.

Now, who do we see about a license to crenellate?

How can we be talking about 1.0 for a walled-city defense builder, without stairs, crenellations, hording or walkable walls?

Is today the day???
lol

Farthest Frontier isn’t a hardcore city defense game, it’s a quaint medieval themed city builder with optional raids, that’s how.

Surviving a year-long seize can be a fantastic endgame content. Maybe in a future DLC?

Now? Is today the day?

Well one day we will be right lol

1/5 chance lol

@Zantai: Have you seen the consequences of the Raider nerf? Before, the raids were a big challenge. I read many posts on the forum, many people complained about the challenge being too much, even though it was difficult, they eventually overcame it and this was the appeal of the game. Now the pressure from the raids is too small, the appeal will decrease, and when the town center is upgraded to age 4 for a while, there is nothing left to do. What you need to do is very simple, return the raids to the same power as version 0.9.1 or make them stronger as much as possible.

well 4 days left!

Tick…tick…tick…

Raids are only ‘optional’ because early beta testers objected about all their efforts being reduced to rubble.

None of the Idyllic Valley chain or options existed in the original.

Yes, it is a hardcore defense mission.

The opening cut seen of every new map sings that sad song for a reason.

You have to defend against the weather, dehydration, starvation, physical and moral privation, along with vicious animals, the need for resources and avoiding resident brutes long enough to be rid of them, in addition to fending off ever-increasing numbers of seasonal armies.

Walls are in the game for a reason.

They’re just woefully underdeveloped at this point.

There’s a Relic for that, but I have yet to see any real effect of employing any of the relics offered.

Endgame?

The town center could reach level 100 before then.
