Ignore the date thing; Steam is stupid about those. It is the latest patch you need to install.
Looks like it. Game shows in the right lower corner v1.1.op1(mono). Gonna try it.
Youāre right about Steam being stupid. ![]()
Donāt need mono version; thatās only if you want to play with mods, but for playtesting best to just do without mods otherwise some bugs might be caused by mods and not whatās in the playtest itself so false report that wastes devsā time trying to find and fix.
Sorry but I can find Public test FAQ. Can you tell me how to select the playtest under Betas? On Steam ā Properties ā Game versions and Betas? Is there any access code?
I registered on the page to leave a comment. Itās a really great patch, I found it quite successful.
But I have a question, will other language options be added to the game, like Turkish?
Amazing. Thank you for letting us choose between grid and free placement. Iām not sure which I think is better, but it sure is fun trying to decide. And not one but two DLCs on the wayā¦so much MOAR!
My only complaint is that FF is distracting me too much from my real world duties, and siphoning off time and headspace from other games and amusements. Not a bug but a feature, I guess. Thank you, Crate.
More of a lurker, but I had to swing in to admit: the patch is excellent. Really changes the feel of building - and the decision to make the two modes key toggleable is appreciated; definitely helps lining things up when you actually want to!
Damn I understood this to be only a diagonal building, which would also satisfied my greatly, but your team really over did themselves and got us a full on free placement build mode

Now as pleased as I am with this, sadly the number one annoyance to me personally in the past has always been the crop field building restricting itself to the grid, since I wanna build curved roads, with fields close to them and not un-attached to them in silly looking square form. SO PLZZZ try to yet revisit this development and include the rest of the stuff to the gridless design. The fields especially, but would be so cool to have also walls and brigdes.
Iām sure the walls/paths/crop fields is a pathing issue. Making these curvable would likely break pathing and therefore the game
They did specify it being a pathing issue already in the post, but kinda hinted a possibility for a solution to it, with more time and development put into it, if thereās demand from the community. So Iām just letting them know I would really want that to be made true.
You can already create farms with irregular/rounded shapes, but you have to do so by using roads to āremoveā the tiles of the fields. Try it on a field you have (but be warned, once you remove a tile, you canāt get it back). Lay a stretch of road across the edges of a field, it will allow you to place the road and delete the farm tiles so that the general shape of the farm will no longer be a total rectangle/square. You can then delete the road and fiddle around with it if you like. Trees and bushes will eventually grow alongside the road, it looks quite pretty. You can run a road straight through a field even, if you want to.
ā¦But when the foliage grows in, it now looks really nice!
Yes thank you for reminding me (havenāt played the game for a while), but that still looks so unsatisfying with there being those blocks along the road and not really āalongā the road.
Fields yeild is most likely calculated by tile.
I find that once the foliage grows in, the square edges are barely noticeable.
i do not have free build mode and am very sadā¦I donāt know why
@Cicikika On your startup screen, what game version number is being displayed?
Just to confirm youāve done the right steps:
Once thatās downloaded and youāre in game, pressing the tilde key ( ` ) will let you toggle between classic and the new placement mode.
Does any one know if I can keep my progress from the public 1.1 beta if I backup my save? Iāve never played this game and want to play on 1.1, but donāt want to lose progress when the update goes live. Should I wait or am I good to go ahead?
