Version/Expansion mechanics AoM/FG

Hello there!

I would like to buy Grim Dawn on Steam, but only the vanilla + Ashes of Malmouth combo without FG.

What is the update mechanics in this case? Would I get further updates for items, quests etc. (1.6.0.0) if I upgrade my client to AoM without FG? How it works?

Updates to the Grim Dawn should effect all configurations of the game except for features that are exclusive to an expansions. You won’t get changes/updates to Forgotten Gods exclusive content like items introduced to it, the Oathkeeper or Retaliation added to Attack as examples.
