Victory is mine, what to do with all this loot

I’m chuffed, I just took down Theodin Marcell in elite and I only died like 3 4 times. Hang on… that don’t sound right: I only died like 357 times to get there!

And the real point to this thread is: Now that I’ve been through the mill a couple of times, I take it that the best option for dealing with the near pathological levels of loot that I’ve acquired is to sell all but the Legendaries, Mythicals and double rares(that make sense for any future toon)?

Or, download GD Stash or one of the other stash management tools, learn how to use the program, and keep all the loot you want.

In GD Stash you simply add any items in your stash to the programs database where it is then searchable and usable whenever you need it from then on out.

Sounds like a great tool but it also sounds outside of the game. No offense to anyone that uses it, but that is a little too close to gaming the system for me to stomach. Thanks for the idea but I’ll stick with self found and managed gear.

The game is very clunky when it comes to storing loot. So much, that after a while, you may find yourself spending half your time dealing with mules to store and fetch that loot. If you are new, you can probably learn to deal with it, but after a while, you may find that the time spent dealing with storing gear may make you want to quit the game.

GD Stash makes it a ton easier. Now, GD Stash also has other features that would let you cheat, but you do not have to use those features. If used just to store and retrieve gear, it will let you focus on gaming, instead of managing your gear.

That said, you still won’t likely want to store everything you find. Just the epics, legendaries and good MI’s are worth storing. If you fill up GD Stash with too much clutter, you’ll have a hard time finding everything you want.

I avoided using GD Stash for a long time, but I was about to quit playing the game due to the hassle of storing loot on mules. GD Stash took that hassle away, and allowed me to have fun again.

Only a suggestion. Just a heads up but it IS technically usable “in-game”. Just make sure your stash/inventory is closed and tab out and make any adjustments you need, tab back in and you’re on your way.

Use it responsibly with some self-control and the only way you would really be “gaming” the system is for the “near” unlimited space and search-ability it provides. Both of which are things constantly requested by players. Even Crate have been known to recommend using the stash tools the community provides.

In the end it can be used to do what you want and make your life easier. Don’t want to cheat? Then don’t cheat and only use the features you require. Anyone with a backbone can self-regulate.

Some people prefer Item Assistant but I lean more toward GD Stash since mamba kinda gets to take advantage of being a Praetorian and update the program during test builds to work with any changes Crate makes ahead of time.

Store
Uncraftable, rare Legendaries.
Double Rares (MIs or not)
Leveling gear

Sell
Rares

Dismantle
Epics, Legendaries

Even by that metric, you won’t be able to store everything worth storing unless you make around 12 characters will full bank space. GDStash/Item Assistant are largely advisable.

I’ll note your experience and advice. Maybe I can tough it out for a while yet and try it if your prediction bears out?

True. But it sounds like convoluteing a problem without a good reason for doing so.

Yeah, I bought up all the spare inventory slots for both the shared and per character stash. For that toon up there it’ll be set hunting for Dreeg’s Shroud from now on. So I only foresee the need for large amounts of extra space if something exceptional, or available for a future build idea drops.

You may well be correct, and I’ll certainly keep your advice in mind. Thank you.

Thanks @powbam, I do appreciate the feedback and you guys are probably correct – having more time under your hats and all. I think I’ll keep at it as is for now though.

Dismantle Legendaries? That sounds so counter-intuitive. Is that related to the overall drop rate? I do have quite a few, useless to this toon, ones already.

After a while, you’ll start to see the same loot drop a lot. You don’t really need 20 copies of them, so you may start to dismantle them instead.

I myself prefer item assistant because it’s integrated with your tabs, not having to leave the game to store items
Feels very QOL to me
Not to make this a discussion about what you should use though, it’s just a matter of preference

I do have GD stash installed though, to change character names and (only) copy kasparov’s crystal to all of my toons
I just like to have it following all of them together with will 'o wisp
Isn’t having pets great?

GD stash has cheat options, no one has to use those but it can be a bit too enticing, just saying
