I was having an issue where villagers mysteriously stopped picking up all logs and stone. After trying many options, I saw this post with the same issue. They used the trading post to fix the issue, however I was on hard setting and still not yet able to build one.
That gave me the idea to toggle logs and stone on and off at the stockyard, which immediately somehow reset the villagers who worked as normal.
