Viper's -20% elemental resistance?

This constellation looks pretty good or there is a catch to it? It says 20% reduce target’s elemental resistance for 3s. It happens every time I hit?

Does this stack with Occultist’s Curse?

I believe it’s Resistance Debuff gets procced by auto attacks and % weapon damage in which case you’d need 100% weapon damage to get the full effect.

So technically if Curse of Frailty had a Devotion Skill attached to it that dealt 100% weapon damage then perhaps it would work?

Oh…it doesn’t say proc from auto attack. I knew there is a catch to it! lol I am not using auto attacks. I use Nightblade’s darts which has some Weapon damage in it. Does this count?

It almost sounds too good to get 20% debuff for tier 1?

Short answer: yes it does stack with Vulnerability and it does need %wpn to proc. You could simply hit with a base weapon attack to apply it, as all base weapon hits are by definition 100%wpn.

Dart will work if %wpn. If %wpn less than 100%, then 20% multiplied by dart %wpn effect. for example, 50%wpn = 10 %RR applied.

Long answer: types and order

  1. -%RR Vulnerability’s type-stacks with every kind of RR, including -%RR
  2. %RR. Viper and viper functions like Demasked noted. Highest source of %RR only
  3. flat RR or “reduced resistance…” Highest source only (ie. Manticore)

-%RR and flat RR are additive. %RR is multiplicative.

So: subtract -%RR(all) then factor in %RR (multiply), and finally subtract flat RR.

So… is Viper worth it if I am using Nightblade’s Phantasmal blade?

Yes viper is worth it for the %OA, not really the resist debuff as your WD% is extremely low when you use Pblades as a spammable attack.

Noob question. What is %OA?

% increase in Offensive Ability.
