Sorry about thread duplicate, I put it in wrong section yesterday.
Since I’m playing from scratch lvl 1, I noticed volcanic stride kills bosses unproportionally fast to the tooltip damage.
So is Volcanic Stride bugged or not?
Sorry if this has been asked before - it does hit a number of times per tick rather than just once, quite against the tool tip (more like 5-6 times the stated damage?), I like the skill obviously but if it’s going to get nerfed/fixed the next patch I’d rather not plan my build around it and use something else. Not a fan of using bugs.
I didn’t play a VM build yet so i don’ know if it’s bugged or not or whatever, but afaik Volcanic stride places a damaging ground effect with a duration along VM’s path.
With sufficent cooldown reduction you can stack a good number of said damage pools on the same spot which would deal increasing dps the more you stack.
FYI, only the flat fire stacks, the burn dot doesn’t as it’s from the same source. It works pretty much like Blackwater Cocktail.
let’s say the skill says 1000 fire damage per tick in the tooltip, let’s ignore burning damage for simplification.
The numbers I see is something like this: 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000, 1000 every second the enemy spends on the lava patch (single cast). Can’t say exactly since they are clumped together per tick (once every 4 seconds).
Initially I thought that it has something to do with the target’s size, ie. it’s related to how much of the path the enemy stands on?
or maybe it’s just bugged and it rises the damage to unexpected levels?
