Warden (Help needed, HC viable?)

Hello bros of Grim Dawn!

Im really new to the game and i love it so far. I always play this kind of games in HC mode only. What do you think about this warden build? I set no devotions until now, because I must look it in detail an do that later. Maybe you have some “must have devotions” for me as a tip.

Thx for every comment!

Hello and welcome…

Do you mean Warden? Soldier and shaman classes?

It can be done on hc. Very powerful depending on the build you plan on

Yes i mean, I updated the grimcalc build in opening post.

Little different from my warder. I went with a storm warder. Wind Devils, storm totems. Lightning damage.

Seems playable enough. I would choose defence devotions like turtle, dryad, etc.

Can i pump all stat points in physique? Or do I need cunning and/or spirit too?

Lol, you did it too.

YATO, I am currently playing a sword and board vitality/bleed warder in elite. Not HC, but I put the build together with the intent of being HC capable, and it is. The deaths I have had where because I was an idiot (going wrong way in Stonerend quarry or standing in poison when I shouldn’t have), didn’t know a boss had a nova attack and got hit with all the projectiles at once, etc. well, except Anasteria, who just wrecked me at a point where my gear sucked in normal.

I don’t think you will survive elite as is. First off, maxing devouring swarm is simply a must, because it increases your bleed damage dramatically and gives a ton of sustain. Without it, every significant fight will take considerably longer, increasing the chance of screwing up. I also strongly suggest getting at least a few points into overguard and war cry. More points in Wendigo & Blood Pact would be good.

The problem, of course, is points. This is just me, but I think using both primal strike and blade arc is going to make it very difficult. I wanted to go blade arc, but thought the energy usage was going to be a major problem, so I actually went with cadence w/fighting form. At least through elite, swarm and vines (with devotion procs from falcon and huntress) will be all the aoe you need.

Speaking of constellations, Shieldmaiden is a must-have, IMO.

Wow… auto correct on my phone. … nice.
