Negative. That’s only damage through active abilities. Not reflect/retaliation.
I picked Kymon’s. At their 4th tier that have high HP/retaliation gear for sale. Other than that it doesn’t really matter. The gloves/shoulders this guy has on is from Kymon’s.

Congratulations! Fun to know you just beat the game on it’s hardest difficulty on the hardest mode (hardcore). I have an appreciation for players who also value playing the game legit the way the game was designed. Right on man! GJ!

Without your thread I would have done a different build (probably commando). My softcore conjurer is getting raped so badly on Loghorrean ultimate, I would never have thought you could go full melee.

And I would say these two would fit the build:
Avenger

Avenger Relic don’t need Citadel and also no Fortress Relic for crafting.
I also can’t say if the Lightning Retaliation of Avenger is better than all nice defense Attributes from Menhir’s Bastion.
What’s your opinion?
Id have to try all 3 but Avenger seems to be the most efficient for this build.
Hey Squib, what about counter attack? Is that not worth the point investment over the hp regen skills?
Well Scratch that…I assume without all the dmg modifiers its dmg would be pitiful. Maybe just a 1 point wonder if you needed a certain devotion skill I guess
Citadel is nice in that it’s buff’s are consistent and the reflect would help with ranged. I would say this would be a decent replacement for fortress. Avenger with lightning retaliation would be nice, especially with the retal % buffs you already have. The procs would help but it doesn’t offer as much in survivability. The resistances can be easily found elsewhere. Menhir’s bastion I think is the best of the 3. The damage absorption + 50% phys resist when needed is stout. Phys resist is much harder to get, likely because it may be the most valuable resistance. And the +1 to all skills in soldier will allow you a pool of points to spend elsewhere. If memory serves me you have to craft citadel first and use it in crafting menhir’s bastion. So it’s gonna cost a bit.
Yep, you called it. Weapon damage is needed for this to have any worthwhile damage.

Yeah Citadel is required for Menhir’s Bastion.
And it’s also the best way to go:
Fortress -> Citadel -> Menhir’s Bastion.

True. Though I don’t know where I would add those extra points…nothing seems to be needed that isnt a 1pt wonder or maxed already. All I could see is more mastery points in shaman…maybe that would free up some hp on the devotion to get that shield proc with reflect

That may be worth it right there. Though no getting points back from the mastery bar if you decide to swap gear around later.
Still breezing through, and legendary gear seems to be dropping like flies for this build. Golemborn greaves are fantastic…
If the build wasn’t already tough enough, the golemborn proc is stout. Did a farming session yesterday with hetzer, unfortunately I mostly found duplicate legendaries. Some I was glad to find though. Then I don’t have to swap it from one char to another.
Holy god, I love this build. I have my warlock sat at 70 at and my DW at 55. I was looking for something to stir my interest again and this build has done it for me.
ATM my warder is 38, but 40 will be a massive step up as I have a full PERDITION set waiting. If only I could find a weapon that procced retaliation, I would be so happy. I have a purp lev 45 axe, the one that procs lifesteal, but it’s going to feel odd using it.
I found it hard going from my WARLOCK that has bonkers clearance speed to a meele char, but the survivability of a shield char was too much of a draw.
Trying something a little different, my warder’s 58 atm, going for Blood in Behemoth, and maxing Menhir’s obelisk on devotions.
Hey again I got another question for ya! Let’s say where fighting a enemy hero with retaliate…either innate or a spawned item they have. All I’m wondering is if all the retal damage will “bounce” back and forth retaliating back and forth and becoming larger then BOOM. Haha…I doubt this is the case but just curious
it won’t, it would be hilarious if it did but it doesn’t. it’s just a once back and done.
Full perdition set is all you need to beat it on normal veteran. In addition to the tons of retal acid damage, this set is definitely a tanky set. Tons of armor. Glad you’re enjoying the build!
I’m curious how the obelisk pans out. I skipped it altogether but I don’t think I’m giving DA/OA stats their proper credit.
Like Aldernath said it only bounces once. However, if Hetzer had to die I hope it’s like this lol. And I hope it makes a louder and louder noise with each bounce so I can hear it coming.
Will try this build asap!! Sounds fun any advice on how to proceed 1-40? Or just use what you get from drops?
