I haven’t brought this guy out in awhile but after the patch, I thought of nobody better in my toon pile to go explore the new material. I missed the Mad Queen the first time through but after I saw on the forums a lot of hype about her and the troubles melee have been having, I thought I’d go back and hunt her down. I have to say, it did prove more challenging (though normal and elite my health never went below 95%). This is vanilla Grim Dawn (no mods) and all self found gear. Circuit breakers came in handy as you’ll see, triggered Menhir’s Will once in the fight.
Hetzer has 25k health, almost 30k with buffs and over 3k armor, almost 4k with buffs and I found the damage ratio the same as my 14k health guy I brought in with half that armor. Hetzer has life resist at 55% and my other guy had none. Makes me wonder if the damage dealt is based on percentage in addition to the life leech, poison, etc. I was thinking maybe similar to the conflagration field (aether pathways) which damages you based on a percentage of your health (which maybe means resistances don’t matter so much since they don’t vs aether pathways?)
I am bummed that such a battle on ultimate/ultimate HC doesn’t end with some sort of reward or maybe an achievement.
Compliments to the Devs, the entire hidden path concept with all it’s uniqueness has been the coolest part of the game (thus far) in my opinion, the maps alone were very cool, the unique enemies with their new attacks and buffs, made me stare at them for awhile admiring the graphics.
