Warlock leveling build?

hey folks.

I was looking for some suggestions on a warlock leveling build. My son and I are having a great time with the game, trying to different classes, experiencing the game. One thing we have been looking for are some leveling builds for different classes. Right now, we are trying out the warlock class.

Just something to put us in the right direction and have some fun with the abilities and skills

recommended builds? Say from 10-60 or so?
thanks!

there aren’t many leveling builds out there, and most people shit on warlock as a class.
For me personally when I play a warlock I have 2 different ways of leveling.

1st way is start with Occultist rush Sigil of Consumption and max it. Then rush Destruction and max it. At level 7 I use lightning nova in between casts of sigil.
after maxing Destruction I go to arcanist and rush Devastation and max it.

From here you can then decide what you actually want to play with your warlock and start re tooling it to that.

2nd way is I start with Arcanist and rush Trozan Sky Shard and Max it. Then rush Frozen Core and max it. At level 7 I use Fireblast in between casts of TSS.
After frozen core is maxed I switch to Occultist and rush Blood of Dreeg and max it.
Then go back to Arcanist and rush Devastation and max it.

Then from Here I’ll start re tooling to what I actually want to play.

Thanks. That is good to know. I will use those tips…we just hit 14 so we can start moving stuff around.

i should as. How is the Warlock class overall? Fun?
Should we try something like a witchblade? witch hunter?
we would lke to try a caster type character this time around, then come back with a nightblade for some dual wield melee action.

thank you

Many of the skills can work out perfectly well for levelling. Endgame Warlock is best known for the blackflame set which supports chaos AAR, this is viable for levelling by attaching flame torrent on it but the AoE clear won’t be great.

transmuted dreeg evil eye with poison component skill, fevered rage bloody pox is a fun one, sigil of consumption has nice adcth, doom bolt has an common drop monster infrequent that makes it nice for single target damage.

You could also dualwield using a relic, get 2 bloodsworn sceptre, use 2 riftstones and be a weapon damage caster spamming riftstrikes with SoC and flame torren devotion (use skill points for solael witchfire, blood rite and possession).

Arcanist equally has many skill that can be used (except OFF vs bosses since they are immune to freeze). I think the question is which skills appeal to you most?

I am still learning both skill sets. Lots to learn, but our idea was to try a caster type build. Both trees have lots of interestign stuff and honestly, i am not even sure where to start…ahahah

That said, i know its pretty common to level with occultist with blood pox (from what i’ve found), but just looking for variety and fun TBH.

Thanks for the help!

Warlock leveling guide:

  1. Get Arcanist to level 10
  2. Look carefully at Occultist
  3. Ask yourself, “Am I making the right choice?”
  4. Choose Necromancer

Got to admit, this made me chuckle

Funny you say that, i have held off on choosing occultist for some reason. Didnt seem right and have not found much on a warlock…so spellbinder ya?

If you are looking to level a spellbinder, something that might be of help: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80822

Spellbinder is much more user friendly. On that note, Cabalist is also an option, both as a caster and as a summoner, if you haven’t tried the pet aspect of the game yet.

I bet one can play “pure Occultist” and just use Arcanist for Inner Focus (spirit and OA), Elemental Balance (crit dmg), Mirror of Erectoes (immortality skill), Maivens Sphere of protection + modifier, and Nullification.

Arcanist with Calidor’s Tempest, OFF (max that first it has a way higher AOE and will one shot packs for quite a while) and greater flameblast once you have the component, should be enough to get you to ulti but you can start putting points in occultist when you want more physique and such. (i usually dont do that till 40 since i want to maximize the points that go into developing the first class’s skills rather than splitting them into second class mastery)

once you start pumping up occultist you should get points in COF, Blood of dreeg, those are great for leveling. then just swap to your ‘real build’ when you get better faction gear for your damage type or can farm MIs on ultimate
