I feel like early on you actually need about 10-15 spirit more than you would phys, as early game your spells are very energy intensive. my personal opinion on it though. Also is there a Grimcalc I could play around with of the 85?
at the top of the post are the links to grimcalc
Can’t figure out the Devotions for your leveling tips (level 45 Arcanist).
You have a point in the 5% health Crossroads, and then the Viper constellation, but none of the other constellations that are filled in can be obtained with just those.
Well you take Pink Crossroad then Viper, Yellow Crossroad then Turtoise and respec the Crossroad point, then you go Purple Crossroad and take Empty Throne respec that point in Crossoad again, after that you take Green Crossroad and Take Scholar’s Light. After that you take Full Chariot and respec the Green Crossroad point and go for Behemoth.
What about the stats? How they should be allocated?
everything is in the guide. We need 87 Points into Physique for Armor Equipment requirements and as much Health as possible.
I am currently following your guide with my level 54 warlock in softcore and am enjoying your suggested levelling path. Of course I can’t wait to switch to the Aether Ray build as soon as I get my hands on the full clairvoyants set - the Codex of Lies happened to drop from a trash mob in late Veteran so that gave me hope that I’ll one day be able to play your build
However I wonder how does your build do against Fabius on Elite/Ultimate?
Thanks for the guide!
hello,
I’m having fun with your build
thank you for sharing this.
btw, there is few items give chaos to aether conversion which are BiS items of this build,
I wonder, how much conversion rate is useful?
if I get more than 100%, does not need more than 100?
or it should be good as more as possible?
thanks
So I am new to this game…I find it fun but extremely in depth.
I so far am level 31 on playing SC on Veteran and I just got toe Broken Hill Rift.
I have been following the leveling guide and my main attack is Flash Freeze & Sky Shards. I love flash freeze but my damage has been bad otherwise.
I am currently using a Voidblade I picked up & Etched Horn of Rituals.
the way I have been gearing has been just trying to find pieces with resistances and putting all my points into Physique.
How do I get more damage? What would be an easy way to gear up and what stats are the most important.
I need more damage it feels like because I have to run and gun and keep dying. I spam my abilities but if the enemies are immune to freeze it becomes really challenging.
Any more help would be awesome thank you.
havent tried Fabius because im too lazy to farm infamy with this character
you dont need more than 100% and the conversion only changes doom bolt to Aether damage because thats the only chaos dmg we have. i wanted to go for the Aether transmuter but it seems that Double conversion doesnt work in GD.
well the leveling build isnt a high damage burst build, you pretty much have to kite around all the time. For gear you have to aim for resist, health and %cold damage.
You could use searing ember, it perfectly synergize with OFF, i did this all the way to elite… But it really did fall of at level 40 still used it because i enjoyed casting fireballs with very low manaconsumption and no skillpoints needed

Is there a suggested list for augments that I missed?
Empowered Legplates of Valor requires 970 physique. I don’t think i will have enough physique when i reach lv 85. Any suggestion for an alternative one?
Crafted Rare ones with bleeding and pierce resist + hp
So far I am only and working towards this, I am using item poison aura and dregs infinite gaze for more damage types which is helping in leveling. Can not wait for end build, I am going to try some variations but this build is a perfect template, amazing work on it. I walk in freeze all, poison tap for regen walk away. Veteran it wipes everything even cold resist with poison back up and I have that at almost 2200 damage over 3 seconds…yeah
So what’s the upside to Warlock over Sorcerer? Do they do more DPS? In what way is this HC viable? Can you face tank nemesis mobs and loghorren with this build? HC viable builds in other ARPGs generally face tank just about anything. HC builds in PoE for example, are really tough nuts to crack. Because if they’re not, they don’t make it very far. The whole philosophy behind “HC viable” is to build strong enough to where a simple mistake won’t cost you your character. So is this build HC viable or not according to how I defined it?
I got 70% of the optimal gear listed for this build. I’m currently running a Sorcerer build. I might make the switch if I can face tank nemesis mobs with the build and gear listed. And I’m not talking about just for the 3 seconds that mirror is up.
I would like to know this aswell.
Something else I’m curious about is that you’d need a lot of stats to make up for the survivability that a skill like flashbang + searing light provides your character in scenarios where you get swarmed by mobs. I haven’t seen anyone post a HC viable sorcerer. And looking at the gear & devotion options for a sorcerer, I personally don’t see it as HC viable. At least not by my above definition. The most I’ve ever been hit for in 1 attack in Grim Dawn is 11500ish, and that was by “The Iron maiden” or as I like to call her “Rek Machine”. So HC viable would have to be able to take that hit and live at the very minimum. And have high enough DPS where the fight doesn’t drag on for long enough for that mob’s RNG to maybe roll an even harder hit on you. Playing HC while avoiding everything that can beat your character wouldn’t be very “hardcore”, would it?
