Actually the mana problem with AAR does not surface remarkably until ultimate Act 3. When high HP/resist mobs start to appear, things may get more annoying.
I presume Aether Hulks are the most hated creatures for AAR players.
I’m near Homestead but I didn’t have mans problema at this moment. I finished the claivoyant’s set and the maña skills is quite good. I’ll check the mana at plants of strife, for example.
I am now lvl 72, and don’t think that energy will ever be a problem.
With 295 energy/sec and -43% skill energy cost + the energy skill of the Clairvoyant set. I am able to fire the ray infinitely (Did a 5min test with a constant ray). And for increased energy regen, we also have “Moment of Clarity” and energy absorb
If act 3 Ultimate should give problems, it will not be the lack of energy, but rather lack of Dps. I now have a AAR Dps of 42957, and dont know how much I can increase it, in the coming lvls.
Already I fear the Aether Hulks
The Band of the Eternal Haunt looks interesting. But I am not sure if it stacks with the Arcane Mark from Arcane Bomb (-33% Aether Resistance) and Mark of the Deceiver from Codex of Lies (-15% Aether Resistance). Can anyone clarify?
Finally I could resolve the mana problems. I got around 220 mana regen and -16% energy cost. When I’m running out of mana, I activate the claivoyance skill. I managed to finish the Loghorrean boss and even kill Fabius (this was a bit more difficult). I’ll try to kill the Mad Queen (the first attempt was an epic fail. Need to try again).
The damage output is better than I thought. It’s a solid build.
anyone know the best place to farm pre 85? im like lvl 50 something, shoiuld i just continue on elite? or go back to veteran and farm bosses there, i feel like i am really weak using just devastation, OFF, and the sky skill
Just go to elite unless your resist are truly horrible, even then should probably just move up Farming in veteran and elite outside of very late elite farming is 100% useless pretty much
You should not feel weak at this point. OFF/devastation should be crushing mobs/heroes and wiping screens in seconds. If you are feel are lacking single target damage then bust out the aether ray to use alongside devastation on bosses
I’m currently lvl 64 and have been going Aether damage from the get-go. I used trozan’s sky shard for a while until i hit about 40ish where I switched to Panetti’s with points only in the 2nd and 4th synergy skills. I diverted because I wanted to only use Aether >:).
So from 40 to 64 I’ve been using these abilities and have had great success with them - Panetti’s w/ Aetherfire devotion, Haunt (Transcendent Relic) w/ Arcane Bomb devotion, Aether Tendril (from Aethersteel Bolts component), Devastation, and 1 point in flash freeze for when enemies get too close and blood of dreeg. I just got doom bolt and I’m using it to proc dryad’s blessing (100% chance).
I am losing my nerve, SO EXCITED TO SWITCH TO AAR IN 4 LEVELS!!! … assuming I have enough regen lol
Hi guys, is there any way to practically get Tsunami, Blizzard and Whirlpool during the phase of using Trozan’s? I understand those skills are probably useless once you go AAR, but it seems like it would be kinda fun to toss around inclement weather at will.
I’m trying to figure it out myself but I’m having some trouble figuring out where to get the ascendant devotion efficiently.
What would you consider the level cut off before switching to AAR? Like lvl 68? You could probably still use all of those devotions while channeling AAR if you have some chance on hit gear to link the devotions to.
Hmm… that could work. Not sure how practical that would be since with AAR, you want to stack fire/aether or chaos damage % and those other skills are all lightning and cold…
Although most of the devotion skills feel very lackluster.
Haha but what could be better than inclement weather + lasers?! On a serious note, you can get what you want by the end of act 3 (Elite) if you don’t miss any shrines. This is what I came up with; it requires 41 shrines and you’ll probably still be in the trozan’s phase and have the last half of the game to make your transition to AAR. Should be kinda fun :D.

You start with
Blue > Tsunami
Green > Scholars Light > Blizzard > Hawk
Purple > Empty Throne > Elemental Storm > Raven/Wolverine > Whirlpool
Profit.
I’ll take note of how you did it as well so I can figure these things out for myself in the future. Actually getting the colors isn’t that hard, but doing it efficiently is the challenge.
I wonder if Trozan’s is an end game viable build? I guess it depends on the item support…
I assume there are many “viable” builds in terms of being capable of completing the content and participating in end-game stuff. Like many people, however, I’m always on the look out for the most efficient ways of doing things, and that typically tends to lean towards a few builds at most. Is this game any different? Is AAR one of those builds?
I specifically showed 3 weeks ago that not only can you build an AAR warlock capable of killing the Mad Queen and Fabius in 15 seconds or less - [ without the “+% dmg to humans” trick nighblade characters abuse, mind you ] - but you can also finish Gladiator Crucible with one, providing you have the patience and you play smart.
However, I am NOT going to post a guide for such a character. Not because AAR is OP in 1.0.0.6. or anything like that, but due to the fact that 90% of the community hates AAR. Furthermore, “NOT NOOB FRIENDLY” is the worst tag for a guide maker / theorycrafter… so, back to the Witchblade everybody loves.
Huh… I LOVE the idea of AAR. Disintegrate is by far my favourite skill in Diablo 3 and I have always wanted a really strong channeling build to muck around with.
Would you be open to questions via PM should the time come?
Hmm, so I just got Blizzard and I can already see some limitations with this strategy. The main one being that you’ll normally not use too many different spells at the same time so trying to find ways to activate all 3 of these skills consistently will be a challenge.
