ps: is “besoin d’oxygene” as a songtitle (from roce) to be taken literal or does it have a figurative meaning? (i’ve read that french is indeed a very figurative - or differently put: lyrical - language, is that so across the board?)
no seriously, in the context of this song, yes it actually means that he needs a drastic change, as he is mostly refering to the society in general ( politics and other stuff). Us french-canadians would actually use the term “besoin d’air” or “changer d’air”.
