Way points in AoM and FG are missing after restoring old save data

The last time I played GD was in patch 1.1.7.2 or 1.1.7.3 (a long time ago). I backed up the ‘save’ folder to preserve my chars. After I copied the old ‘save’ folder in place, my old characters show up on the main menu screen. However, when I load into the game the way points are missing and my character is in the starting town instead of the FG hub city at level 75. I think the quest log is messed up as well because I should have a long list of completed quests for the main game, AoM and FG. For Active quests right now it is show that I have Rhowari Legacy. I suspect that my faction progression might be incorrect as well. I made sure to never use cloud saves then and now.

I’m expecting to have this problem across a bunch of characters.

  • How do I get all of the quest/faction progression and way points back without redoing all the running and questing a second time?
  • Have the devotions and/or skills been altered/reworked since patch 1.1.7.2, which may force a respec?
  • Is there a way to make sure everything is correct?

do you have cloud save on or off ingame?
if you have cloud on,(because you had cloud on before) you can’t just copy paste files into the steam cloud folder
if you had cloud off before/copy pasted your backup into documents/my games folder, you need to have cloud off ingame too this time still

No cloud saving then or now. Everything is saved local and set to save locally. I copied the old files in the proper place. Any ideas on how I can correct the problems?

Thanks guys. I loaded the character into GDS and inspected it. I shows progression and way points from a prior difficulty so I loaded up in higher difficulty and had not opened up the entire map yet.
