Hey so today I decided that I wanted to be reasonable and keep peace with Barrowholm because I didn’t think they were causing any harm other than wanting to protect themselves even though they were suspicious. But then I found the cellar and then through the dialog I learnt that they killed the survivors… I know to some its a silly idea to care about moral choices in games but on my main character I wanted to do what I felt was morally right. I’ve done this on Ultimate difficulty and there is no point in going against them on a lower difficulty as lower difficulty means less loot and less fun.
So my feedback/ idea is that we really need you guys to implement a way to roll back decisions like these or offer ways to restart from an act, in games like Deadspace and Metro they offer the ability to play from parts in the game. So maybe Grim Dawn could offer on ultimate difficulty, a way to rewind back to an act at the cost of faction rep and losing quest items so that they can’t instantly complete quests. I know others have brought this up so I know that at least some of the player base really wants this sort of thing! This has really upset the whole point in my character. Like, there is dialog of something along the lines of “I’ll stop you now” even after you make this mistake, but then it leads to nothing and has you doing more of their quests, maybe this should lead to a retribution/ redemption quest line to amend for your mistake? Perhaps we could even add a New Game + mode like in Dying Light and many many other games, something past ultimate, just some way to give players more flexibility of choice with moral decisions.
Thanks for developing this amazing game so far its not easy getting 125hours as a uni student haha! Hope you keep adding to its awesomeness
Regardless of the suggestion, if you want to fix it yourself now you can go against them on a lower difficulty AND play Ultimate. Faction alignement is shared through all difficulties.
That’s true but like I said doing that is pointless because there is no reason for me to play on that difficulty. I understand that decisions made are made but it would be great if they could add a new game + mode like many other games do so we can run through on ultimate after finishing it. I like my main character and would love to keep playing him through the lore rather than finishing and farming for loot.
You should have paid attention to the clues ahead of time, because they were there. Don’t whine that you only figured it out now. Too bad, you’ll have to do it on another difficulty.
You totally missed the point Anathema2741 and I don’t see anything like a whine in Trederz dialog, all I see are suggestions and questions from a game fan/player. If you paid attention to the wording, even the tiniest bit, you would have understood what was being suggested. Instead you made a useless, worthless and ignorant statement, btw, that’s why they call mistakes MISTAKES, if you can’t add anything positive, log off and troll round yer local park!
Trederz, for what it’s worth, I agree with your suggestions, I too would like to see that option to be able to play on with the character you have developed over time, nice post, just hope the game devs take notice! Well written.
I already said that I knew they were kinda suspicious so I did notice the clues. I’m not whining either, nothing about what I said remotely sounded like it either, you’ve clearly just come here to start arguments. I’m suggesting the idea of having a New Game + mode which is something many many games use. Obviously you have every right to say your piece but it feels more like you’re trying to have a go at me than actually add to the topic.
You can always chose another path with your next character. I’m not going to complain if they implement something like this, but not every idea that has been done in another games has to be in every game.
I am not sure we understand each other here. You can choose a faction in any difficulty and it will affect all difficulties.
For the expansion that means your Ultimate choices can be reverted by choosing something else in Normal and Elite (here I assume you played AoM in Ultimate directly).
Over the course of a character progression you have thrice the choice so you can see that as two “reset my previous choice please”. If you make the “wrong” choice three times maybe that’s your fault.
Given how morally gray most of the larger choices you will make in this game tend to be I’m not sure why it matters from a moral standpoint. Cairn is a pretty morally-gray world, to be honest.
Their augments kind of suck, badly. The only reason i sided with them once was to buy their legendary blueprints and fight the Ravager for the achievement. Rest of my characters just kill them with no remorse.
The % Health one for Armor is kinda OK if you’re otherwise fine with your resists. But otherwise, yes, I agree. As you said, side with them once to take their BPs, then slaughter them.
I actually voted no, I don’t agree with the OP’s suggestion
I just made that post because I don’t like siding with Barrowholm even though the game kinda forces me to do so
Their augments provide the highest bleed/vitality resistance, their HP/DA augments are pretty good as well and the reason I prefer to side with them is because I don’t want to fight yet another enemy
I don’t get why people are even against a new game plus mode. I don’t care about the decisions, but having ng+ would give a great alternative to mindless farming or crucible. Because by the time you get your best gear and max level the game is over and you have nothing to use all that gear and skills on except more farming. There are very few endgame dungeons and no random map/rift systems in the game, so after playing ultimate that’s mostly just it. At least with ng+ we could play through the story again and have some fun with our level 94 sets.
Their vitality resist augment has 2% more than the Death’s Vigil one. 2%. That’s pathetic. And their bleeding resist augment has 4% more than the one in the Coven. Plus the Coven one has regen too.
I’m sorry but their augments suck really bad. Their offensive level 90 augments are somehow worse than the ones Anasteria has and hers are level 70. Unless you want to buy their blueprints or fight the Ravager, there’s literally no point in joining from a gameplay perspective because their augments are barely, barely better than the ones in the Coven and Malmouth Resistance and a lot of them are actually worse.
