We should be able to command pets to use their skills whenever we want..

Thus, they dont waste their cooldowns on trash mobs… Especially for The big one for mortar trap!!

Been asking for this for ages, but only so that pet builds aren’t so mind-numbingly boring.

Pets aren’t and shouldn’t be as effective as another PC would be. If you want intelligence from your companions, play multiplayer.

Yeah ok thanks

Thanks for only one-man standing opinion…Even in World of Warcraft, hunters could command pets to stun and it is a all-multiplayer game . Good argument there.

Disagreement isn’t the same thing as invalidation. I’m entitled to say “don’t change X” just as much as you are to say “please change X”. Also, rewriting people’s quotes to put words in their mouths rarely leads to productive discourse.

@Guurzak: Telling people to just go “play multiplayer” wasn’t very discoursively productive either though.
It’s not about pets “being intelligent”; they already have an artificial intelligence and nobody expects them to develop conscience.
In fact it’s rather about the opposite really - not having to rely on this AI to cast your pet’s skills, but instead being able to do that yourself.

I think that, even if we wouldn’t get the ability to select what pet skill should be used, it would be nice if we could press a button to let the selected minions cast their spells on the next possible occasion.
With that implemented it could be made possible to turn off auto-casting for your pets so that you would have control over when they use their skills.

It would definitely be nice to at least make it to where we can tell them on what not to waste their abilities on or what pack size of mobs they should try to use their AoE abilities on. As to make sure that they don’t waste their multi target abilities on single mobs who have strayed away from the main pack and whatnot.

Perhaps it would be possible to have targeted abilities like the old Fire Shield the Demolitionist had in which case you can only use such abilities on your specific pet (which would probably need to scale with player stats).

Could then give your pet temporary buffs that could proc skills though I’m not completely sure if this would work or not. Proc on auto attack so you can make your pet attack specific enemies in which case you use the skill for the proc to go off.

That’s getting a bit too much.

Just having the ability to select their skill and who it will be directed towards would let pets deal the big damage to the big enemies, while the player or other pets take out the trash mobs, then swap them to autopilot for the rest of the fight.
