So, i’ve read in the forums that weapon damage can affect skills that reduce resistances.
Now my question, do they affect all? Like for example, if i attach Acid Spray to Ring of Steel that is below level 9, will the debuff deal the full -30 to all resistances? Or will the effect be diminished? Do i need raise Ring of Steel above level 9 or attach Acid Spray to Shadow Strike or other skills with 100% or more weapon damage?
Weapon damage doesn’t affect skills with resistance reduction. It affects resistance reduction that is granted passively such as from the plaguebearer’s prefix. For example if you had 20 resistance reduction on your weapon and an attack with 50% weapon damage, you would only apply 10 resistance reduction. Acid Spray however will apply it’s full effect regardless of weapon damage.
Depends on the type of ability applying the reduction. Acid Spray will apply its full effect regardless of where it’s attached, because it’s an actual attack. Something like Viper, though, which isn’t an attack itself but just applies a resist reduction effect to your weapon attacks will have reduced effectiveness when you’re using <100% weapon damage skills.
