none of them. Due to armor mechanic most of good elemental devotions do nealy no dmg when you convert them to phyz dmg. No dmg=no sustain.
What? You do know enemies have reduced physical resist to compensate, right? Converting anything to physical doesn’t result in lesser damage.
I tried Wendigo on a Death Knight, with Gladiators belt. The physical damage is pretty low and have to fight against armor so I abandoned that idea. How good Fiend is in comparison I have no idea but your sustain will come from the weapon damage component of that proc.
I tried, yes, even pre-nerfed Fiend was nearly useless on Warborn WB.
Flame Torrent’s sustain comes from weapon damage anyway no? I should have asked about Wendigo vs Flame Torrent with around 17% life steal.
Sounds more like you built a shit Warborn build more than “elemental damage converted to physical result in lesser damage”. I have used it in Warborn builds and other physical builds with elemental to physical and it was about as effective as other variants.
Physical Meteor Shower and Blizzard seem to be doing quite well.
All physical (not trauma, only flat physical) passes through armor before %phys reduction.
So as Ptirodaktill mentioned, you need pretty strong flat phys damage to get over that threshold for leech and damage. Small amounts will be ineffective.
Dot (trauma) is a only subject to the %physical resist, though.
Most every hero on ultimate will have 1000+ armor and whatever associated LLR.
I’d still take Fiend for the %weapon dmg
And i have done it, myself and others with good results
Fiend!
Gotta love the tone in the conversation
The only thing that causes these devotions to do less damage when converted is the fact the devotion nodes don’t have % physical damage. And even then the damage is hardly that much different because those nodes give at best 100% damage, 180% if you are going for T3 devotions. In case of Fiend it’s 39% damage, which is laughable.
I just appreciate having responses! Thanks everyone. I’ll stick with Fiend. It’s working well anyway. Between it and Targo’s my health is pretty stable.
How well? Can you clear 150+ under 7 minutes on regular basis with converted Meteor shower+blizzard?

Didn’t feel any positive effect from Fiend on my warborn build, but ho know, mb I`m doing something wrong?
Have you considered the bat? You get one 4% Adcth node, it has weapon dmg, vitality dmg (that you convert to phys) and pierce damage (that you reduce resistances to with assassin’s mark and you probably have some +%pierce damage on gear anyway)
I don’t play crucible, but, isn’t clearing in under 7 minutes kind of a high bar anyway? That’s silly.
You really notice the reduced effectiveness with it on the bigger stuff where physical resist isn’t around 5% anymore. And armor is 2000+.
Bat on CoF is good. I forgot about it to be honest. I might give it a try. Thanks!
Well, I mean, it’s working well vs campaign nemesis bosses. Lokarr is iffy, but he’s a pain to melee without a seal.
Sorry, but I can’t agree with you. Recently tested battle mage on physical meteors and can confirm that Fluff and others are right.
