Do you mind sharing your build? sounds very interesting, thanks.
nothing fancy, just a dual wield witchhunter solaels witchfire only from occultist, maxed out veil + nightchill, pneumatic burst and the aoe dual wield attacks, all gear and constellations on vit damage and attackspeed
Dual wielding 2 omens, was going for 2 corpse desecrators but omens are better … more lifesteal, pretty weird a level 25 sword better then a lvl 50 axe.
Currently at level 50 only 5k dps, dps not all that high i suppose but its definitely a cakewalk melee.
Are the Relics you are discovering interesting? - Yes
Does the rate at which you are discovering new Blueprints feel rewarding? NO, missing one recipe to complete a L70 relic after 150 hours of game time should not happen.
Are you finding the cost of crafting Relics to be an appropriate challenge? Are Tier 2 (Transcendent) Relics an appropriate cost for the power they provide? - NO - Tainted Brains and Bloody Whetstones are impossible to get in the required quantities.
Any other thoughts?
Overall there are very few relics in game !
Game needs at least 50 more mythical relics !
And like 25 new +75lvl ones !
The current lvl 70 ones give very few stats and takes forever to make them !

Without dread skull´s i don´t need relics.
My char ist 68 now an got 1/4 skull´s after killing 101000 Mobs.
Honestly I haven’t thought much about them. I made the one I have a couple months ago and forgot about it. It’s there…it boosts my stats.
There’s nothing that needs to be done with it. Can’t put a component on it. Can’t enchant it. Doesn’t require any upkeep.
If I ever find a mythical relic that’s better I’ll replace it. But until then it’s just…there.
Hmmm…upkeep. Interesting. What if a relic’s powers were to degrade over time and you have to go out in search of some mystic living in a shack somewhere to have it recharged. For a price…
The granularity of the game is massive.
The components in general (praise the stacking which was added!) I combine for a while until I feel encumbered by the space they take in the character inventorey/pack(s) at which time I’ll move complete ones to the stash.
When I feel my stash is too encumbered with those, I transfer them to another character.
I -DO- use components from time to time and think relics are great but in comparison, equipment loot is extremely diverse and effects are immediate. So I find myself paying more attention to equipemt I find and planing for my next change in that area.
The pace I’ve made relics is, uh, hardly at all. I think that I’ve crafted 2 relics which pretty much is 100% of my crafting over 1k hours aside from applying a complete component to something on a new charater from time to time.
I have a few tanscendant relic plans but so far but in course of dealing with all the other equipment variables I seem to continue to planing on the fly based in the equilibrium relic I made long ago.
There are, lets see… head, shoulders, torso, waist, hands, legs, feet, 2 rings, necklace, medal, 2 offhand types… and relic, all with variations of their own which the player can use to shape their character. OH! …and components which can then be used on all that stuff. OH again! …and Devotions. Maybe I got it all covered now.
I love it, but I cannot process it all at once. Looking at the new relic designs I have found peaked my interest in a few but then when I consider that I’d have to sort through what makes what and all that in order to try out one of the new relics.
In the mean time I have focused on figureing out how to disperse the 20 some odd devotion points I have on some of my other characters.
I tend to favor the headspinning variety of character options but there is so much, that due to the finite storage and with respect to all the stuff which can be used to outfit a character which includes crafting and ‘ingredients’ potions and formulas – it seems the diversity in all it’s glory might be more usable if more were to be ‘simplified’ as the components have been.
I hate to say that, but unless there is an overhaul on the inventory/stash which allows more efficient management of that whole facet, it’s hard to know if or when I may bother with making anymore relics.
Item glyphs are mostly useless to sift the 4 transfer stashes of stuff to sell off things, so hovering over each item is needed – and a good memory
While everyone can see the usefulness of item comparison as it is, what would help people like me (who want to store everthing then cull out the stuff I want to keep) is an ordered stat list of the stuff, err, bulk comparison if you will.
Even if it would only be possible on static item traits (phys, level, spirit, etc) due to the random and perk traits that would help get back to playing instead of farting around at the smuggler as much as I do.
…anyhow, rant over… Relics? I like the one I have and at some point I will need to force myself to make one that I can which seems good so I stop revolving my equipment management/selection on the one I have already.
IMO - Overall there are way to few relics in game - mythical should be at least 100 !
There should be lvl 75+ 80+ 85 relics in game with ultimate bonuses !
I like em but, I wish they were single drops, i also wish we could use 2.
Over all I like the relics, but I think on a whole many of the items in the game need some rebalancing. All too often I find higher level blue swords that are much worse than the yellow sword I’m using. Then there are those few blues which are super powered and nothing seems to beat them. I used the same blue sword from level 35 to level 50.
I’m working on crafting my first tier 2 relic and my God is it nearly impossible to make and barely an upgrade over the tier 1 version (bladedancer). Yet I found a tier 3 relic for another class which is easier.
Hello after 450 hours of playtime i can say to relics and whole crafting system, that i found it realy interesing enjoyable and rewarding, lvl 70 relics ar realy expensive but realy powerfull and effort for their crafting feels well rewarded. Only one thing wich i beive ewerry one wants is more stash space like 10x more
Because of creating 20 bank characters isnt much fun. Also consider enabling shared storaging for cthon blood, manticore eyes shards ect. not for money tho.
I want to thank you guys for making this realy great game I fcking love it! And im lookong forward to datadiscs and more great stuff, just sh…up and take my money
Some are, some aren’t. Since I’m making my 1st character (a Cold-specced SpellBreaker) I’m really really focused on trying to find those that help with that. Sadly, I’m not always looking at the ones I find for how game-changing or interesting they might be for other play styles, at least not yet.
At first, no. It was slow going until after I finished Veteran Normal… then more and more started dropping in Elite, I feel they appear plenty often now. All in all, I think the current drop rate is fine. Of course when you don’t seem to get the one you actually need I’m sure that makes you feel that they aren’t dropping fast enough.
This one I’m not so sure. Again, since I’m focused on a cold-based Spellbreaker, I can only talk about what my personal experience has been so far. My first relic that I felt was really for me was the Tier 1 Glacier. I didn’t even get the plan for that until after getting the plan for Tier 2 Deathchill and was wondering where the heck Glacier was.
Glacier seemed really really helpful, and while I was grinding my way to get the rest of the mats for Deathchill I liked it alot.
Then I finally got Deathchill and sacrificed my glacier for it. I was immediately disappointed. It was weaker than my Coldstone aura (and yes I know I can have both on at the same time, but considering how much longer it took to get this then to make a Coldstone it still feels like a letdown) and just didn’t seem all that additionally helpful. I would have rather had an improved Glacier, to be honest.
So in this case Zantai, I would say no, not really. But maybe the other Tier 2’s are great, and when I make a new character those will be much better.
Its a great system but I think there are too few of them…
Just found a blueprint for Citadel, it seems a bit underwhelming for a mythical relic.
I’m not sure why we would need more space for component creation, ive been playing almost 150 hours, and with 4 tabs in the shared crate, I have more than enough space for components. Granted, I don’t keep much gear, except for set gear or legendary pieces, but I have not found space to be an issue at all as of yet…
I don’t mind how difficult the relics are to make, sans that being how long it might take to get some of the mats.
On that note though the blueprint drop rates for them are abysmal and I’m still waiting on 2 of them to drop after 2 chars being lvl’d to 85 and not seeing either one.
Also I guess this would be a good time to mention this. I think that the random enchant effect on relics should be able to be rerolled through some type of recipe and medium req in materials so people who spend as much time as they do to make a single relic can have the RIGHT random effect stats rolled on them. It’s EXTREMELY annoying to make a caster type relic and get melee type random stats and not wanting to EVER try to farm all the mats over again just for a small chance to get the right stats for the right class / dps type you are playing.
That’s my only issue with relics.
What do you think of Relics?
Relics are neat!
Thank you for you time.
To share my experience, i played around 150h with one character, and the droprate of blueprints could be higher, but with some trading its mostly possible to get the desired relic. Most of the tier 3 relics look balanced and take a fair amount of effort to craft, so far i wasnt disappointed with the relics is chose to craft. But especially with relics its a bit annoying to check if you got every piece of material you need. As for for enchanting and crafting items on it i dont think its needed we already have so much customization via armor, its not really needed and i kinda enjoy having something that doesnt needs tinkering ^^
