What exactly improves the damage for Aegis of Menhir?

Folks,

Does anyone know off hand what exactly boosts the damage of the Aegis of Menhir? I am going for the acid Sentinel. I know the skills further along boost the damage as well as finding a stronger weapon because of the % weapon damage

If I choose the Rat devotion for example, does the Poison get added to the Aegis?

Does the flat acid & chaos damage from the Wretch get added?

Does the flat physical damage from Safeguard get added to?

Thanks in advance.

If you look Aegis builds you’ll notice that they have low WD.Aegis and EoR skills have most of their damage in the skill line itself. Also you need conversion ofc,to keep homogeneous damage type.Still if you add rat for example, you will increase damage slightly.

The weapon damage on Aegis is actually really high. 345% weapon damage at rank 16.

And yes, flat passive damage on Rat will get added through the weapon damage. When you see that type damage on anything, you could only use it through skills with weapon damage.

I added the Rat devotion with its percent to acid and poison but for reason did not see any increase in the damage for the acid Aegis.

It’s probably better at this point if you post a GD tools link to your build, so we can see what’s going on.

generally speaking, all % bonuses for an element, including those in the constellations, are all added to a total which is then applied to the damage source, in this case it would be acid damage to your aegis. If your not then something is missing, and we’ll need the GD tools link to take a look.

Easy to check in game

That is why I am asking. I checked before and after and did not see any change in the damage. In grimtools I added in the “of the three” set pieces, Mythical Widow’s Sting, and the following devotions, Rat, Scorpion, EotG and Abomination. I put all of my points into spirit (just for testing) and still no damage increase on the character sheet or Oathkeeper skill point for the Aegis of Menhir or Reprisal. I remember adding in the Rat devotion during gameplay and didn’t see any damage change in the character sheet or skill page but did remember seeing DOT’s on the enemy. So maybe there is an in game bug that doesn’t show the added damage.

Grimtools only shows the base skill damage, it does not calculate the exact damage and does not add the weapon % damage like in-game. But you can clearly see the weapon damage increase on the second tab of the char sheet which then improves the skill damage as well. I don’t know why you didn’t see the damage increase in-game.

Q: What exactly improves the damage for Aegis of Menhir?

A: Downgrading to 1.1.1.0.

Spot on.Poor Virtue was nerfed in every possible way and slot:cry:.Octavius at least is piano build.

Funny ^^;)

All,

It seems I am a turd. I do not know what I was looking at but I went back and created a new character and adding points into Spirit or devotions like Rat do add damage to the Aegis. Either my computer was just slow (approximately 8-9 yrs old) and wasn’t updating. My apologies. lol
