What is the class closest to Swordsman/Samurai ?

Topic as above ?

Is it blademaster or some other class ?

Soldier/Nightblade would be the closest to a Swordsman/Samurai-esque character IMO.

Soldier/Nightblade is the closest if you don’t want to go for anything Arcane/Occult or Magic-related basically.

That said, Nightblade does still use a form of magic to manifest and control multiple immaterial blades in skills like RIng of Steel or Blade Barrier.

Soldier/Shaman is another swordsman-ish combo if you prefer two-handers. Shaman has a passive skill that support two-handed weapons and another passive that gives extra physical damage along with boost in defensive stats.

thanks for the replies.

if playstyle is slashing while energy wave shooting out. would be soldier or night blade with mage class ?

Sounds like you should take a look at Forcewave in the Soldier tree. Perhaps not with Nightblade as a secondary mastery though.

Blademaster

Or wait for forgotten gods dlc: maybe will get a slashing new mastery like barbarian with whirlwind energy waves.

seriously, right now soldier may be your best bet. Try looking at blade arc for that slashing animation

that is what i did on my 2nd GD char 2 years ago. Not very good. Ended up with cadence.

But I am curious what 2h pierce support we will get. Knowing crate so far in AoM, i don’t expect it to be conventional slash pierce like cadence or some other auto attack but other odd mods

You mean like Blade Arc as whole is not very good or just pierce Blade Arc? Pierce Blade Arc actually sounds cool. A Tactician or Blademaster.

Too bad there’s no legendary Pierce two handed sword. Still waiting for it, Crate. Instead you are interested in making weird ass sets as Cold Grenado.

maybe and just maybe a BA sword with heavy piercemods. Mind you Ba didn’t even have flat phys in LAceration back wehn I tried. Regardless it will always be good vs mobs and ok at best vs bosses. I was obesessed with Oleron theme and I just wanted to tear heads off with a 2h sword in melee, is that too much to ask?:undecided:

Okay at best? But my physical BA Witchblade kills Mad Queen in 25 seconds. I think my fastest is 21, i use War Cry cooldowns to count and i use Mythical Warborn helm.

But yeah, a pierce two handed with pierce mods for BA actually sounds dope. There’s need to be more stuff for BA other than just Bleed and Trauma.

Only issue I have with spammable Blade Arc nowadays is that it is incredibly energy-hungry compared to the other Soldier attacking skills (Forcewave/Cadence).

There’s some support here and there for Vitality BA but it still most or less ends up as dual Vitality/Bleed regardless. Would love more support for other variants of Blade Arc though.

considering you are using and AoE skill your kill time is good. But i want it to hert! Feel like you cut that bug in half!

A full phys Belgo can do 11-12 sec MQ. A Cunning BM (campaign only cause going cunning is a bit of a compromise to be competitive using pierce) can do 7.5 sec MQ. Why can’t 2h pierce be monsters

God knows how much i bitched about this and i think Zantai is probably getting tired of reading me repeat it. But yeah, Blade Arc needs a reduction in its energy cost. Two ectoplasms and 15% energy cost reduction and i have to pop an elixir of spirit kind of often.

Vitality BA Death Knight/Witchblade actually sounds cool, but Vitality has enough support already. Pierce needs more variety because it’s pretty much dual wield right now (and it’s been like this for years).

i have watched too many bleach anime.

wielding sword with crazy attacks.

Glad I’m not alone on the matter. Only way I’ve found to sustain it is to jump knee-deep into a crowd and leech my way through it. Single targets though? My energy drops like a rock.

I went Warder for the big Vitality RR on Devouring Swarm and flat damage on Mogdrogen’s Pact/Blood Pact. The Bleed RR means I can make use of Blade Arc’s Bleed and other gear pieces that add to it as well.

Death Knight is the way to go for Vitality Decay though and likely better than Vitality spam as BA is largely DoT and gets amplified further with the transmuter.
