What is your favorite mastery?

I like Demo. Lots of neat toys, flavor-wise it’s interesting as well.

Demo is very underrated imo

Nightblade for me. a lot of versatility just like the arcanist wich is my second.
The problem with Demolitionist is that Flashbang, granado, Thermite mine and Canister bomb are very similair skills. Fire strike is good tho!

I love the concept of Inquisitor, and it’s dual class possibilities. But mostly, pairing it with a Demo for the Fireworks.

I will vote for Shaman.

1 - It’s a melee mastery that works well by itself, with skills of focused damage and skills of area damage. You can also add the pets into the mix.

2 - It’s a class that combines well with other melee masteries, with caster masteries and with pet masteries.

3 - While we don’t have a Barbarian mastery, the Warder is the closer we can get from this.

My second favourite mastery is the Soldier, by the same reasons as above. Downside: no cool lightning. :stuck_out_tongue:

In my opinion, all classes are cool and create interesting combinations. It’s very hard to choose between them. But Shaman and Soldier are very clear to me as my favourite.

Poll appears to be much more stable now. Necro is still ahead, but it’s not a bad thing. It’s a pretty badass addition to the game

Disclaimer: I’m a pretty causal player (I have no chars above lvl 85 yet), so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

I think that Masteries are excellently designed, both in regards to balance and thematically. Due to the latter, Occultist wins for me. The whole idea is so magnificently Victorianesquely cool, and I think it really captures the essence of Grim Dawn universe. Which doesn’t mean more Chaos damage support would hurt!

Necromancer is also pretty good. I’m not interested in the pet part, but cold, vitality and aether themes in the mastery are very, very good. I don’t think acid/poison was necessary, to be honest. That damage type is covered well in the Occultist, and maybe it would make more sense to sprinkle it a little over the Shaman skill tree.

For people asking for Witcher as the new mastery, how would that be different from Occultist?

And, whenever I do think about possible new masteries, I find it hard to come up with something, Crate has done an excellent job in designing them.

Necromancer - Dont like pets but the other stuff is cool

Shaman - Also not one I’ve really been able to get into. Fun to level, not so much fun in the late game.

I use to like demolitionist a lot. But with Forgotten gods on the way , and for some reason Inquisitor became my favorite:p

I need more than just an arbitrarily picked class name to like a mastery.
