i wonder who has the highest play time. i know some people have over 10.000 of game time, share your steam profile screenshots and tell us why did you start to play this game.
i go first, i started to play this game around 2018, i was a huge fan of titan quest immortal throne and played hundreds of hours. i thought this game would be similiar to tqit and wanted to give a shot at grim dawn.
Pretty much the same reason as you Holy_Templar. I love TQ and when I heard Medierra was working on a new game using the same engine I backed it. That was around 2009-2010.
Im attacking 3k hours. Mmm, well, actually, its a good question. I have never been a mega huge ARPG fan. I have maybe 200 hours in diablo 2, 500 in diablo 3 and 300 hours in Van helsing trilogy. I dont like PoE at all. GD mh, i basically work as a scientist/ mathematician and I love to mess with numbers here. So many dmg types, resists, builds, toying with devotion paths…
Also worth mention I played GD itself for maybe 400 hours and the rest is mods.
I play with Steam in offline mode (due to bandwidth capped internet ), so it does not track my hours played.
But I’ve been playing since early access in 2013, and I’ve likely spent a few thousand hours in Grim Dawn. Like most early backers, I had been a TItan Quest player and when I heard of this, it was an instant buy.
I came late to TQIT; subscribed to the newsletter of the old tq.net forum, which informed me in 2009 of medierra asking people questions regarding their next project; I spent way too much time there and later here, and was even asked to become a moderator so that I was also included to the initial closed testing group. I have recently crossed the 5,000 hours mark.
For me, I’m kinda in the same boat as lord_mayak; the vast majority of my time in GD has been spent in offline mode. As to what I’ve spent online…
I came across a newsletter from November 10, 2009 which includes Grim Dawn discussion. I think the “Forbidden Areas” are what became the Roguelike Dungeons? I guess it was decided to use skeleton keys after all…
