What kind of music are you listening to?

I remember listening a bit to them in the early 2000s. That’s some cool psychedelic metal IIRC.

Currently listening to this : https://youtu.be/tgRYPXZtXNs

I mostly listen to trip hop/chill out music.

Current favourites are:
Dutch
London Grammar
Portishead (Old one, but I’m just discovering them)
Emancipator

All time favourites however would be, in no particular order:
Rush
UNKLE
Massive Attack

Just a taste of my general music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3Tk0QoenBs Joy Luck Club by Massive Attack

even though it’s uncool these days, I’m still mostly into indie rock.

m83-“Don’t Save Us From the Flames”
Okkervil River-“Lost Coastlines”
Broken Social Scene-“Sweetest Kill” This band is legit. They have like three drummers, 9 guitarists, 7 lead singers, etc. So many different sounds
Voxtrot-“The Start of Something”
The Strokes-“Last Nite”

I know a lot of Indie fans, like most my friends, will hate a band as soon as they become mainstream. Like most my friends wrote off m83 once they hit radio, even though we had seriously just seen them live three months earlier at the Avalon, but w/e. I’m not really like that. Good music is good music. Don’t care if 10 people know it or 100 million do.

Right now - Bowie - Beauty and the Beast.

More general…Icon of Coil, Velvet Acid Christ, Sisters of Mercy, VNV Nation, Mesh,Aesthetic Perfection, Klangstabil, Front 242, NIN.

Love Bowie though - and '80s synthpop.

Ah well - Bowie finished and the song currently playing is BBFC by Alien Sex Fiend

Two seconds later…Lay all your Love on Me by Abba…

Recently, Iced Earth, Richard Thompson, Rush and King Crimson.

New Ghost song out today called Majesty. I seriously can’t wait another two weeks until their new album comes out!

Ghost - Majesty

Dr Dre - Compton

Not my fav or first choice of music genre to say the least but found myself listening to it 2x last night while playing both GD then POE.

For any Ghost fans in here (if there are any), here is a short (3 song) Unplugged show they just did in Seattle. They play Jigolo Har Megiddo, Zombie Queen and If You Have Ghosts.

I’m 52 years young and listen to:

5 Finger Death Punch
Infected Mushroom
Skrillex
Type O Negative
Rob Zombie/White Zombie
Joe Satriani
Kid Rock
ICP and thats just my present MP3 lineup
Godsmack
I also freak out my buds who listen to my stuff and come across Bobby Darin singing “Mack the Knife” one of the best Old mob songs ever

Type O Negative

Nice! TON are/were one of my favorite bands of all time. Unique band beyond words. I miss Peter Steele. A true and original talent. I was lucky enough to catch them live twice. I’m also a huge Life of Agony fan.

If I could have 1 singing voice it would be Peter Steele’s…my favorite song…ultimate cause they all rock is September morn

I really like the Rocket League OST, especially “Angel Wings”.

Aloah!
I’m 25 and listening to stuff that was composed during the last few centuries, i guess age, of listener and music, does not matter (except within beliefsystems, but what doesn’t x)).

Aloah!

The Rebel Spell

Youtube sample

Awesome band with original take on the genre + with striking lyrics, if you are into punk music that is.

I was arranging a gig with them here in Czech Republic early this year, but a month before it the frontman fell off a cliff to his death… I spoke with him like 4 days before that… I feel cursed now, no more gigs to arrange since… =(

I’m surprised to see that there’s not Tame Impala in the thread since the group is moderately known, but I’ll be the first!

I only listened to their last album, it’s decent but the first song set the bar so high that the rest doesn’t follow close to it, which is a shame. On the bright side we got an amazing song, Let it Happen.

I have a few other artists I like, but I’m not gonna list them now… Maybe one because I’m 99% sure nobody knows about him:

Boerd.

He’s a Sweden guy who makes the kind of music you listen in a grand garden when the sky is full of clouds.

This pleases various facets of Dualistic nature:

Svarthamar - from the Icelandic movie Metalhead. In the film you first listen to the Death Metal version of the song.

Current list of what I listen to while playing the game here, but for just general listening you can add just about anything from Toby Keith to Beethoven to Metallica to the list.

King Louie One Man Band - Jesus Loves My One Man Band

Persuaders - Baby Baby C’mon
