F*ck, forgot the new Laura Stevenson album came out in March, along with a new Tacocat one this month…
So far loving The Big Freeze, it’s a downer album, but it’s oooh so damn beautiful.

currently listening to a lot of OCS/Thee Oh Sees/whatever they call themselves nowadays
any band with 2 drummers is a great band in my book, but these guys are totally killing it!
When live version is better than studio record.

these are 2 of the best hip-hop albums ever released, I can listen to these beats on repeat for hours on end and it’s quite inspiring to my own music.
cosmic blackened death metal
Yoink:
I’ve been listening to a lot of aussie rock music recently (again).
like the Chats
Amyl and the Sniffers
and Tropical Fuck Storm
They really got something going on down under. I saw Amyl last year when they opened for King Gizzard, great vibe. We need more aussie bands on tour in europe!
Great band name
haha yea it is
Singer Gareth Liddiard’s former band was called The Drones, a little bit too generic to show up in google search but Tropical Fuck Storm is quite unique
The other day I was listening to a playlist from KEXP (Seattle radio station, highly recommended) and the band Samaris caught my attention. Electronic (break)beats, ambient synths, beautiful voices, I really like it.
The album is really good too, starts with chill DnB and ends with dub techno.
This is a mashup of The Temptations “Get Ready” and Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave”. Been listening to it constantly since I found it.
Put simply, “This fucker jams!”.
I just think to myself how amazing it would have been if the The Temptations and Black Sabbath had actually made this -together- back in the '60’s (or rather in '71 when Sabbath released Children of the Grave).
My god - pure epicness.
And when they hit into that mindblowing chorus and it meshes so well with the rest of the groove? C’mon now man. That’s the stuff of legends right there.
Classically trained musician, who loves all things Metal. I enjoy trying to find metal covers of some classical pieces I enjoyed while I was still playing violin. Came across this just a bit ago, and although the artist’s name is a bit of a trope (Lestat? Come on…), the arrangement he did for this piece was really well done.
Enjoy it, or not.
I was listening to metal music years ago,but now all the way classical!
Shostakovich is the perfect combination, best from both worlds
Thread needs moar The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets:
Mainly because my brain got a hankering for this:
Also, Louder in Outer Space by Skating Polly’s been quite the ear worm:
edit - nice, discord just loads up the player widget for bandcamp, it’s going to make posting bandcamp links a nicer thing to do. Rather someone having to open a whole new page.
that’s pretty neat, let’s see how it looks
same here
edit: it’s just an empty frame when I try to embed the bandcamp player…
edit2: posting the direct url works fine, just the iframe thingy doesn’t.
A friend just posted this on my Twitter feed… and it just became a new favorite.
