Whats the biggest Villgae so far populationwise?

Hi guys,

How large is the biggest village anyone has built so far, anyone know? In my latest I currently ahve 2175 villagers. I don’t expect that to be the all time hig for this game, but it can serve as a starting number.

It would be interesting to know the number of FPS with such a population.

Never gone over 1100…for both performance problems and lack of things to do/long term objectives after T4 is complete.

I guess it is dependent on the PC you are playing on? I currently have 35-40 FPS when playing.

EDIT: At 1 times playing speed

My largest settlement thus far is just over 1300. But that’s because I have terrible habit of restarting because I don’t want to take the time to re-lay out everything to fix a flaw (or ten… or two dozen) with whatever the initial concept was that I was going with.

2600 for me and the PC is struggling, but its spread out, so not surprising.

I have done that a lot as well. Unitll I found a village plan strategy that works. Now every game I play follows the same village plan. It is not an exxtremely optimized village plan, but know it works well.

Wow, I have never reach that. I do understand the PC is struggeling. Same here. I am going to maimize the village I have now and see what it can reach populationvise.

I think I’m getting close to having a stable layout I like. I have a housing block setup that I use pretty much every game, it’s just setting up all the industries that I’m still sorting out. My current map looks like a giant checker board. White boxes are 36x36 housing blocks, black boxes are 4 sets of 16x18 fields, or industry layout. The biggest hiccup is almost always storage and getting “needs” distributed across the living areas, while also not making workings walk a billion miles. Of course, once I have the ability to “manage” storage more optimally (like in Pharoah or even Timberborn), where I can actively move things from one storage location to another, I can improve efficiency in general.

yeah, I think i’m at another of those points where it’s hard to maintain the population. The number of people dying of old age and the new births year on year is about the same. Occasionally i have a good few years and it creeps up. My original layout plans kind of worked but now have kind of fallen by the wayside and the outlying areas are a bit of a mess. Aiming for 3000 and then i’ll start again i think !

I thought it would be fun to revive this convo.

My biggest so far is about 4800.

At this point, performance drops off such that I really can’t go any higher - as it is I’m only getting 2-4 fps and I think I’m only powering through on this village because I’m home sick. But it does technically work… sort of. And I love the flexibility I now have with enough people to sort of allocate to whatever I want.

Hey, me too! Hope you get better soon ^^

3000 for me, but my fps dips into the teens, even with lowest graphics settings.

I’ve hit close to 6000 population. At that point, it’s not really frames per second, but more like frame per second, if even that

You pause the game, do what you need to do, unpause and go do something else while the simulation runs at >1 FPS.

I have a decent computer and it gets pretty bad once you get close to 3k pop. I still found it fun but there is definitely pausing to move the map around or else it slows to a crawl.

wowza. 7500 is impressive.

I’ve got a new rig on the way, spec’d to the max that is reasonable without taking out a second mortgage. Maybe once that arrives I can try and top you :). I think I’d get like 5 seconds per frame on my current computer at the population level

wenn du in die Minikarte reinklickst, wo du so ungefähr hinwillst, sparst du dir das über die ganze Karte zu schieben. finde ich geht bestens.
