This game is so great and what gives you peace of mind to keep playing it is that the developers love their game so much that your suggestion will not be taken.
I find veteran too easy. You can do whatever you want of course, but I much rather start on elite and then switch to ultimate rather than start on easy mode and move to higher difficulty when that one is also easy.
I donāt. More options means more (and sometimes exponentially) work for the devs. I often see people suggest: āJust make it an optionā, but they all forget itās not for free. It means they have to make sure the game works with all the different combination of options.
In this case if we add a new game difficulty mode, it means they have to balance the monsters for that one in addition to the four others.
giving players a āchoiceā of some stuff isnāt always good, since they can go against their actual interest/overall benefit - people complain the game is too easy, yet refuse to not only play Normal, because itās āwastefulā to play Veteran or Elite type reviews/posts, is probably the nearest example i can think of
This is also a good point.
I think playing a little of elite or veteran is fine. You can also just start on ultimate with some gear and an xp potion. You level like crazy at the start. I definitely agree it can be a little tedious early on with bosses though. Also the lack of a blacksmith hurts. Itās not ideal, but itās definitely possible and nice change from cruising through veteran.
because of that i would have been ok with no new expansionā¦
but if a potential GD2 gets the same amount of expansions as GD, i think it should have only 2 difficulties, normal, with veteran or elite modifier, and ultimate, and maybe with the 3rd or 4th expansions a new one like they will add with the next expansion.
but i donāt think the same model poe has fits for GD, people playing GD are more likely here for the campaign and not rushing to end game, if it would, it would end like with poe, people asking to skip campaign to skip to end gameā¦
and gearing up in the first and/or second difficulty and then play ultimate with a fully geared char would be lost.
Yeah, I noticed that the merit no longer works for Ultimate after I completed the main game on Normal.
Yeah, theyāre early game use only now.
In normalcore I would do Veteran until Logh, which is about level 35, and then go straight to Ultimate. In hardcore, I would full clear Veteran, which is about level 70, and the go to Ultimate. Donāt see myself playing Elite ever again.
I have played all the modes. Elite is the mode Iām sticking with now. The ultimate mode challenge was just to say I did it. Elite mode is perfect for my level 100 character to just log in and explore and kill things. My gear is even all set for now.
