It seems Octavius Warlord, Krieg’s Deathknight or some kind of defensive orientated witch blade remain top tier in terms of pure tankiness. I’m not sure what beats what though
I think Warlords are the tankiest. But not necessarily Octavius.
But the truth is, beyond a certain point where S&B builds like Octavius need more tankiness that they already have by default (even if you completely botch your build) - beyond that point it all comes down to targeted tweaks.
You need to kill the new celestial? You gotta respec from some devotion and get Shield Wall, change chest/head components to Titan Plating for armor and pierce res, get a splash more adcth for single target leech, maybe also a third Bloody Crystal.
You wanna facetank Mogdrogen? Slap an Ultos amulet and you’re all set.
You need to kill Kaisan at shard 250? You need a Tinkerer’s belt and a million overap on acid res.
So to answer your question, such thing as the one tankiest build in GD doesn’t exist. It all comes down to specific micro tweaks not general concepts like Octavius or Markovian.
BUT… gun to my head I’d say Stoneguard retal WL because it seems to have more freedom in tweaking for defense than classic dmg builds.
Retaliation Warlords using stoneguard set with ~7k armor and more have the crown rn I would say.
