Well, When it comes to builds, I am Loyal to my Fire strike Commando, It’s the only character I have really enjoy playing. Used to run a blade master way back in the day but it got boring.
As for making or taking builds I am a little of both, I run my own build but use the compendium as a reference point because i understand there are better players than me and because of that in return made my understanding better. ( Thanks Commuity! )
As for Playstyle, When I want to play with a friend or even try to get gear solo. I just forget that I am farming and do a full world clear. Start with off the RLD’s then I work from DC to Nerco farming all the hidden stuff along the way.
Yeah it takes time but you find all sorts of good stuff along the way and for me at lease takes away the feeling of raw grinding.
exploring, feel the ambient, enjoy killing among beautiful architecture.
making my own, prefer making new build more than similar to others.
Anything challenge or hard enough. Currently Dungeon farming.
End game life(when sufficient with everything). Mostly help people do crucible farming. I’m not the fan of farming, but I enjoy playing multiplayer more and helping crucible farm is what I can do.
I sometimes trade purple loots for components when I have too many. (I play crucible to have fun and there’re a lot of loots I don’t really need. So I hope if hand to needed it’ll be better)
I always make my own builds, though they’re hardly the most original - I’ve had a couple of crazy build ideas in the past, but since it takes me about 20 hours to get from Lv1-85 I usually just spend the time making builds I know will probably work well. It’d be easier if I just used modding tools to instantly get Lv85 characters, but… I don’t think I’ll be doing that for a very long time. I’m happy with the base game for now, and making cheated characters would probably ruin the fun for me at this point. As for other mods, some of them look interesting but I’m still happy to wait a while. I am tempted to give the editor a shot at some point in the future though, watching Grava’s streams reminded me how fun the level building process can be.
Making new characters is pretty much all I do now anyway - considering the level cap is getting raised in the expansion, I don’t see much point in farming MIs when I know that I’ll only be wanting the higher level versions of them soon enough. As for Legendaries, there are only a handful left for me to get and I’d rather just stumble upon them while playing the campaign.
I mostly make my own builds, while sometimes incorporating useful advices made here on forums.
Since the vanilla game got stale and boring, I mostly play with mods these days, so this makes things even easier to make some really good builds.
Also facetanking everything on SX DAIL mode. Go hard or go home.
I like to discover for my own what skills have to offer.
I usually follow builds regarding to my items stash. For instance, I got a full Justicar Armor set, so I have a lot of commandos builds now. Then, I farm with that build and I got new items to make new builds. Then I farm with those new builds, and so on.
I generally enjoy ranged gameplay. I can’t stand the “piano” playstyle some people enjoy, with like eight skills to use, so I tend to focus on builds with as few debuffs as possible, or auto-debuffs, like just linking Eldritch Fire straight to my Fire Strike for a Brimstone build. As for what to do WITH my builds… Once I’ve pushed the limits, tested how far they can go… I enjoy farming for MIs. Pulsing Shards, Hidden Path pants… I used to farm for Alkamos stuff, until they made that awful legendary scythe.
Creating my own builds to just see how it works out, but also
Taking existing builds and make them suit to my own style
Open world / dungeon farming since crucible destroys the game`s charm for me, but also crucible to test a build or farm items from time to time.
Playing multiplayer over solo. But the thing I noticed is that for farming things like crystals it turns out that it either drops for exclusively for my partner or exclusively for me which makes it A LOT less attractive.
