When you leveled your build but the final equip eludes you

So, i got my char to 85, im on ultimate and after farming Fabius around a hundred of times i have yet to see part of the legendaries sets like Warbor or Markovian.

So, my dear uber equiped friend, what did you do to get those mythical equips.

Did you farmed normal bosses? Because they are droping trash legendaries for me.

Did you go to crucible? Whitout equips the mad queen and friends in the last waves raped me.

Did you keep farming Nemesis? Fabius is droping greens from his stash for me. Seriously, i did like 25 runs today and only one legendary.

On a sidenote, do markovian or warborn set drop on elite?

Thanks for the help!

It’s pretty much a thumb rule to farm the highest possible difficulty. But if you’re too slow on Ultimate then Elite re-runs are much more efficient. Your problem is RNG, i ran into Fabius and his nemesis trove gave me BP: Cowl of Mogdrogen.

The best drops lie with Crucible, but in case you can’t do it i’d recommend SoT and BoC for the drops. Personally, i found more drops from trash mobs than from bosses but i’m sure no one would agree with me so i won’t suggest you to do that. It could be that my luck’s better with trash mobs

Highly recommend to hunt for top tier items on ultimate. Not that they can’t drop from a boss of sufficient level on elite, but on ultimate you keep your chances from the beginning of the run up to the boss - there are heroes on your way, and there’s even the minor chance to have it from a white mob.

Doing nemeses is a good option, but chase those with better drop table and easier to get. Fabius got nerfed, he drops shit now. Valdaran is ok - tp to warden’s cellar and make a short circle, tp back and run straight to the warden fighting only heroes on your way. If Valdaran isn’t there you still have a boss kill. Then tp to homestead and run conflagration, if no nemesis around it’s another boss kill anyway.
Same for Moose - SoT runs give you crapload of items plus a special chest, combined with the probability to find a nemesis.
Don’t farm Ben.

There’s always been a problem with the item rarity in this kind of games. Drops too low? Angry players and cockblocked progression, a feeling of lack of progression and unachieved goals. Drops too high? A feeling of bland and easy progression, loss of interest if the carrot is easily achieved. Deterministic drop system? Too easy and simplified! Non-deterministic one? What the fuck, just ranged weapons drop for my barb! And so on.

I’ve personally solved it for me by making item independant builds, never work around set items, and try to take advantage of side opportunities (for ex. it’s more efficient to farm slicers as a pierce melee, rather than hunt for the set claws, etc.).
I also use the tactic to collect gear first with a carrier char, and build around it later with a new toon. Solves a lot of troubles.

If you insist on these certain pieces of gear you are looking for, farm and pray. Or spit on your dignity and trade.

Killing nemeses for legendaries is pointless.

What I do is simple: I like to clear all maps. I do all quests, clear all maps, and kill everything that moves. The more mobs you kill, the higher your chance to get a nice drop is. Pretty straight forward.

Probably got most legendaries from Hero Monsters.

I do seek out nemeses, I do boss runs sometimes, but I still kill pretty much everything. [I think I might be addicted.]

Works fine for me, can´t complain.

Cronley > Twin Falls > Broken Hills are full of heroes and eye-pleasing areas.

I can also spend hours farming Cronley, gollius, and guardian of solael while killing every hero on the way and not see a single legendary. Very annoying

I like farming mis since at least you have a chance at something good dropping.

First, thank you all. My problem its not the drop rate, its that i dont see those high tier legendaries. The ones i get are the 65 ones.

After i come home from work im going to do several steps runs and see how i fare.

The other chance im juggling is going elite and bulk farm epics to dismantle and see if the legendary smith can forge me something usable.

So, whats your opinion on good bosses to farm epics and that, at the same time, they have a good chance to drop an extra material? Im thinking Cronley, warden, smuggler pass or maybe ravna

If you are talking about farming elite for dismantling epics/legs, at your level anything but BoC would make no sense. SoT will bring lower results, while the clear speed will be equal.

Trading is also viable. Make a game titled “Need …” while farming will increase your chance of getting that evasive piece of gear.

Twin falls is the best for epics. Just port in and run left up around the tower killing all the wasps. Go into hive and kill queen. Rinse and repeat. However, this gets you every little rare mats for smithing.

Cronley is one the best overall for epics and legendries if you can take out fab quickly too. If you have to skip Fab then the rate is just so so. A better rare mat rate drop then twin falls too, but still not that great.

1st floor BoC is one of the best for rare mats and some epics and legs from heroes (and trove). There you farm the treasure trove (~85% chance on ultimate for a rare mat) and then run to boss in front of the locked door. Boss and heroes will drop some bloods at a decent rate too. It is a bit of a longer run compared to the others, so it does cut down your efficacy.

There were several farming threads with these stats in them, but probably buried at this point. Doing a search though should bring them up.

I personally like to run AU after the hive in TW. Moose is there sometimes and the Souls are nice drops from the end boss. Also another trove inside AU. I think the stats showed that it wasn’t that efficient though due to the length of the run. But I like it.

There was a post with 500+ epics scrapped resulting in about 100 rare mats. So the rate of return on scrapping epics is pretty poor. You’d have to destroy about 40 epics to get enough rare mats for 1 legendary item. That a lot of dynamite… 40 troves, although would take much more time would yield about 4.

In the end, hope RNG is good to you and find a route you like running as it may take many of runs to get the items you want… All else fails, the trading forum works great!

And also, you want to avoid the burn out. Don’t always farm the same area even though it’s the most efficient one. Vary your farming route so you see new places and don’t get bored.

From experience, Cronley run was the most efficient farm in the campaign: 3 guaranteed bosses, lots of heroes, 2-4 dynamite sticks and chance of Fabius (which can be a minus depending on your character). Amusingly enough, all my first Markovian set dropped from random heroes and one-shot chests while leveling characters, aside from the helmet blueprint that only dropped in the crucible very recently.

Speeking of the Crucible, if you have a character than can reliably farm even Challenger, you’ll be literally drowned in legendaries… It’s to the point where I don’t even bother mousing over unless it’s one that I want better rolls for or a new one. Nowhere near enough dynamite to even consider bothering. Got the DLC during these autumn sales and by now I must have left a whole Deathmarked set on the ground

Wow, thanks guys.

Im going to try in campaing at least till i can get a little better equip.

I tried the first diff in crucible but the mad queen got me hard. I can manage the rest easily but she owned me to the ground.

But maybe, just one more run, just one… (talk about farm fever)
