Where do this magic food come from, at the beginning of every game?

Why there is always some “magic” food in the statistics? There is none of it in the storage, so how can it be consumed every year (bread, milk, preserves and so on)?

Stocked in the wagon your villagers used to get to their new town location I guess.

I thought so too, but then how come milk and bread last for 6+ years, if it comes from initial wagon?

I think that wagon comes with a refrigerated compartment

  • I don’t think I’ve ever caught anything spoiling in the wagon, no matter how long some remnant bit of food stays in it . . .

immigrants who want to join your city have their own supply of food. Including food that cannot be obtained at the beginning of the game - bread, canned food, cheese.

Looks like you’re right! I waited for immigrants to check their inventory, they’re coming with all kinds of food:
