Where does it pull crafting items from first?

So I have a recipe that requires a Troll Bonecrusher and I got an amazing one, at least at my level, for my 2H Warder from a Troll boss in East March, +3 Savagery and +4 Fighting Spirit.

I also have one in my stash that I’m willing to give up, but since there really aren’t any re-dos on this, I want to be sure it wouldn’t grab the equipped one as I might cry at least a little.

Is the order of preference for crafting

Stash
Inventory
Equipped

Or would it just never use an equipped item?

It would never use an equipped item.

It does pull from the shared stash before the character’s stash I think, so be careful. I always drop things I want to save on the ground when crafting something that requires that item.

Yeah I was thinking you know there is still a chance that I consume this thing accidentally, especially now that I’ve found something better and it is in the personal stash for that character. Hadn’t thought of just dropping it. My solution as going to to give it to another character to hold or equip it. Either of which is somewhat tedious.

Would be nice if there was a flag that said “Not for crafting”.

Does having item be Soulbound, have and Augment, or have a Component on it prevent it from being used in a crafting recipe?
