Where to go now with my Conjurer

I maxed Briarthorn, Conjure Primal Spirit and Mogdrogen buff.

Raven + Hellhound are both 1 point. They do no damage at all besides the lightning strike from the raven. Hellhound is always first to die.

I have 1 point into all of the pet skills they can use.

COF + BOD are both only level 5.

I don’t attack at all so I have no points into any attacks.

What should I change? What should I max next? I know Primal Bond is a priority.

What should my devotions look like? End game goal is probably Behemoth, Ultos Shepard of Storms and Mogdrogen the Wolf. Lightning Build.

You need to provide more information. What level are you? What difficulty? A grimtool’s link is always useful.

Around level 45-50. Veteran/normal

Gear is all health+res or pet damage/speed. I’m way over leveled. I’m not progressing the story right now. I’m farming depraved sanctuary till I get Black Grimoire of Og’Napesh. Even if it means unlocking the nemesis before act 3 lol.

Take a look at this build for some tips & tricks: http://www.grimdawn.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24703

Thanks but no thanks. Doesn’t go too indepth with skill leveling for my taste.

If you are a non-attacking pet build Conjurer, where do you put the points if not into Hellhound and the Raven? I mean, just the Briarthorn alone won’t be enough. For my Conjurer, all are maxed, and my aim is to get the armor set that lets me conjure two Hellhounds.
Add points to all the pet skills, plus max out Bonds of Bysmiel+Manipulation on Occultist, and Primal Bond for Shaman. Put some points into Blood of Dreeg+Aspect of the Guardian, mostly the former, for healing your pets. A few points into Curse of Frailty and Grasping/Entangling Wines is needed, they are only to do some crowd control and weaken enemies, plus trigger celestial skills.

Ultos and Behemoth are useless if you are a non-attacking Conjurer. Mogdrogen the Wolf is great, yes. Go for that, grab Staff of Ratosh too. Bysmiel’s Bonds, Raven are all useful. Fiend is good to boost your Hellhound and give it a celestial skill to trigger.

Useless is a strong word.

The raven can proc Ultos. When he crits he will make chain lightnings. So as a non attacking Conjurer it still has it’s value. Not to mention it’s buffed by the raven devotion and raven passive and all your +lightning damage items you would have at end game.

Behemoth for the +20% healing regen for pets to be tankier. Should work with Mogdrogen passive, blood of dreeg ect. Works well with Ultos since they both use the same affinities red green and blue.

As a Conjurer why would you ever want to use 2x Hellhounds when you can just have 2x Briarthorns? Fire build?

I like using the Raven as a heal bot. Pet build is (in my opinion) shitty in levels before 75, since items are not that powerful and you level up fast. Just max one pet comepletely, let it be your main damage source and add every other pet at level 1 to just slightly support the maxed-out one. Also, let the raven be completely useless and max it’s heal only, for the early game. At higher levels, pets are sometimes “immortal”, so don’t worry. :stuck_out_tongue:

At around lvl 50 the game should be a breeze with a well balanced pet conjurer. My conjurer is now lvl 94, and it does pretty well in final act in AOM. The skill points have been pretty much the same, just overleveling some as I get closer to lvl 100. I chose the pets to do some elemental dmg.

Skill points:
I choose use pets main skills as 1 point wonders, so this means that Familiar has only maxed Storm Spirit + Lightning Strike and Hellhound has maxed Hellfire (Briathorn has just 1 pt each skill). A few points went into Conjure Primal spirit and Primal Bond. The pets dont die too often in Ultimate, and BoD keeps them healed.
Blood of Dreeg to get OA, life, res etc.
Curse of Frailty maxed for RR and slow (also Grasping Wines help with this).

Devotions:
The tier 1 devotions are pretty good for starters (and in eng game) for this pet conjurer, the ones I choose were: Shepherds Call (bound to Curse of Frailty), Bysmiels Command (Grasping Wines) and Twin Fangs (to Reverend Og Napersh), Flame Torrent bound to Hellhound.
Arcane bomb is bound to Familiar, and Elemental Storm is bound to Briathorn.
Can anyone tell me, if its any idea to use Wind Devils for RR?
Instead of getting Modrogen tier 3 devotion tree, I chose Dying God. Even if it drains life (which can be balanced with Blood of Dreeg, which is cast anyways now and then), the pet bonuses are pretty good, and requirements synergize well with other devotions I picked.

Gear:
Getting Legs and Mythicals is Elite and Ultimate is quite self-explanatory, but the stuff that vendors and factions sell, will get you far. Get items that add Pet %OA, attack speed, res, life etc. At lvl 50 and 60 you get some nice relics and other stuff to use, and better vanilla GD pet gear at 75.

Everything said thus far. If you’re running pets then run them, don’t tinker with them. Max them out --except maybe the two middle skills of the raven familiar-- and choose constellations that fit pets. Also attach a constellation to each pet for some much needed AoE. Good ones are the Feind’s Flame Torrent for the Hellhound and Rhowan’s Crown’s Elemental Storm for the Raven Familiar. More if you have more pets and can afford the points.

Say what! I can do that? What’s the set’s name?

I can tell you as a pet player that the fact you have the Ultos constellation is a big red flag in and of itself. There is no way you got there without wasting quite a few devotion points that could have been supporting your pets.

Nature’s Call Regalia is one giving an additional pet. You need all 4 pieces to be able to summon a second Briarthorn. There’s also an amulet that gives you 2 Ravens (see link below).

Redmo12, you might want to take a look at JayNyne’s Lazy Summoner build if lightning is what you’re aiming for. He’s redone his old build for the AoM expansion.

Damn! I was hoping for a second Hellhound but a second Raven will do, thanks. How do constellations work on multiple instances of the same pet?

Shepherd of Lost Souls is the set that gives a second Hellhound. More for a Cabalist though since it also gives +3 to Raise Skeletons. Shepherd’s boosts pets’ vitality and vitality decay damage, heath and OA while Nature’s boosts their crit damage, health, OA, chaos/aether/physical resistances and gives +3 to Primal Spirit and Bysmiel’s Bonds.

So I can haz! Thanks. Regarding constellations, I meant constellations like Rhowan’s Crown proc firing from two ravens. Will that happen or will it just proc from the one Raven?

You dont want the armour set tht gives 2 hellhounds its a necro/ ocultist set. you want the mythical beast caller set tht lets you summon 2 briarthorns instead if you are a cunjurer.

This builds skill point distribution and gear are similar ( i run more points into storm spirit and hellfire and none into lightning strike), my build differs with the devotions like yourself i’ve gone for ultros on the raven as ultros then gets the 900-1200 pet damage increase, hits like a truck and debuffs everythings ele res to make your lightning conversion pets deal more DPS. Unfortunately this build only shines best with the specific weapon offhand and 2 rings.

my devotions went as follows
Shepards crook - curse of frailty
Raven (pet damage / lighting pet damage)
Akerons Scorpion (purely for DA debuff) -Yeti / briarthorn
Wolverine and Toad ( need purples for modrogen / Pet defense and lifesteal)
Modrogen - doombolt
Tsunami or compass ( I use tsunami as i have necklace called ‘heart of the mountain’ with yeti pet bound to it and gives me one more pet to apply a spell to) - yeti
Widow (purely for -35% lightning res) - Hellhound
Jackal and viper (simply to unlock ultros)
Ultross. - raven
gotta keep purple and red cross roads for it to work.

this devotion set up with gear and crucible buffs will get to around the 130 mark in crucible before it fails after that you gotta start running dying god/ time dilation builds which gets a bit more tricky. but it will breeze ultimate and nemesis bosses.

finally even the most lazy pet builds gotta do a few spells at least curse with this build as you need to reduce enemy resistance and slow them down. i also run grasping vines and doombolt (1 point) to proc modrogen.

Hope you find some of this useful
