Which Class great for starter newbie

Hello guys,

I really interested in playing this game, but it still quite new to me, so please if any of you would suggest, which class is great for a newbie like me.

You can choose from ‘best in farming’, ‘good DPS’, ‘have aoe attacks’, ‘good in defense’

Thank you in advance

I haven’t played much of the other classes ,but if you like to play with a sword and board, the soldier class is great for survivability.

You can also take a look at the class skills at https://grimcalc.com/. Do keep in mind you can change/redeem skill points, but you cannot redeem mastery points and attribute points.

The best one :

That one is good. The Cadence Witchblade is good if you want 1H+Shield. Any Demolitionist with a rifle if you like ranged. Or any Demolitionist build at all, really. Stay away from dual-wield until you have some experience with the game.

Vitality caster, learn the game while you progress with the ease of tons of heals and aoe. Endgame respec into dps conjurer with primal strike or savagery for loot farming

Soldier, based on the criteria you gave.

It has a lot of defense naturally from some early abilities and high hp. As for AOE, forcewave, blade arc and blitz all are powerful abilities.

That being said, the game starts off VERY easy and you one shot everything with abilities from any class. It warms up beginners well so dont worry about trying any class

I advice against sword and board builds, they are durable but damage will be low.

The most dumb and straightforward build that fits your criteria is the 2h warder linked above.

Any good Nightblade or other melee builds right now? Was originally going to go the CDR Shadow Strike build but it looks like that just got nerfed.

Everything was nerfed, so following your logic there’s no more good Nightblade builds

Go for demolitionist and up right to cannister bomb, complete the searing ember and put in your weapon, at lvl 15 craft flintcore bolt and put it into a new weapon, now you can pretty much burn down everything for almost act 1 and 2

The best nightblade build that is also beginner friendly is currently a saboteur. A witch hunter is also pretty easy to gear, but is usually more of a dot melee/caster hybrid.

Follow this advice then at level 50 switch to a melee firestrike build. Legion firestarters and faction gear with a few lifesteal accessories can carry you through elite and well into ultimate. At level 50 it would look like this.

If you are interested in melee builds in general then a warder is very easy to level and does well in ultimate with sub-optimal gear.
