Which of these sorcerer builds is stronger?

I’m only at level 79. Here is my build:

And i’m comparing against a suggested build like this:

Which build do you guys think is the stronger path?

  1. I’m confused why the suggested build will go with starpact which has no synergy with BWC.

  2. Is flashbang a powerful enough spell to use as main attack? I’m currently using Conflagaration. Which is more effective?

  1. Star Pact offers %cooldown reduction. That is very important with Devastation and BWC both on long CD. Besides, you have some lightning damage on BWC, so it’s not that useless. Nevertheless, I think this is a guide that was made before Star pact changes. The recent aether to cold conversion hurts your Devastation damage.

  2. Flashbang is a wonderful defensive tool and very useful for a Devotion proc such as Eldritch Fire.

In particular it is the modifier “Searing light” that is very useful for defenses due to its Fumble and Impaired aim that works 100% effect on bosses.
