My wife wants to start capturing video to ultimately upload to YouTube to start her own channel about homeware and lifestyle products.
We both know very little about Video Cameras and what to look out for / what is undesirable, the best brands, etc.
I was hoping that I could appeal to the more tech-savvy bunch of you guys for guidance on which Video Camera would do a really nice job of capturing footage that would be clear, with clear audio.
We are looking to spend approximately $300 AUD which is $230USD and 210 Euro.
I would love people’s opinions and insights in to why they recommend a certain model / brand, etc.
It’s been years scene i have done any kind of photography or filmography but, i have some friends who love their GoPro’s, i personally don’t think the sound quality is the best but, my friends are mostly recording skateboarding or snowboarding, so stuff that is outside with no real way to control sound quality.
Also for your price range i’m sure you could find a good Sony or Cannon.
As for webcams and mics i have no idea but, would probably end up being more expensive that way.
I hope that at least gets you going in the right direction, as i said its been years for me so i’m kind of out of the loop at this point.
I am using mirrorless camera (older SONY NEX-5R) for video with really very good quality, but this solution is out of your price range. On the other hand with camera you can obtain also very good still pictures with high resolution.
